Freedom Restaurant — Restaurant in Kamala

Fresh fish, on the beach, a nice place. We stayed at Hyatt and ventured to kamala beach for late lunch. This place is basic but the owner (or manager) was friendly and said the fish was fresh from the mornings fisherman. We had it fried with garlic and chili, very awesome. The kale (Kailan), pepper shrimp and mango drink were prepared well. All around positive experience. We tried to avoid all the highly rated places because they all has beef, pizza and burgers. We didn't come to Thailand for USA food. Will go back if don't see a better 'local' restaurant. Can't believe only 1 trip...

We had dinner there with gorgeous sunset view. Great people watching spot for sure. We ordered morning glory (ask for no MSG when you order), the MSG made us really thirsty after meal. We also ordered schnitzel, pasta which were all good. BBQ chicken was hard to chew and cold. Less than 5 mins, we only could chew it for a couple of bites then had to give up as it was really really hard to chew! We asked for take away and we boiled it at home then it was so much tender, ha! Service was o.k. The guy who took order never smile or say anything when we left. Their waitresses...

We have ordered explicitly a grilled fresh red snapper and received a steamed one. We ordered some tum max. medium spicy and received a super spicy one, which you could not eat. Furthermore we ordered a mixed salad as side dish and received a mixed fruit salad with yogurt??? Which doesn’t match with fish 😖 we ask for correction but she said bad luck she is not the owner… I was with Thai friend there… there was no mis communication … no sorry… no offer for extra drink … nothing just bad customer behavior. Last thing me that...
