We visited Ice Seafood with high hopes for a pleasant evening of great food and good service, but unfortunately, the experience was quite mixed.
Starting with the positives: The restaurant is beautifully located right across from the Tsunami Memorial, easy to find. We were seated at a lovely table on the first floor with a nice view, and it was a big plus that we were allowed to connect our own music to their Soundbox. Outside, the sight of fresh seafood being grilled was impressive and initially raised our expectations.
Now for the downsides: The service was downright poor. The staff seemed disorganized and inattentive, which made the whole experience frustrating. The dishes arrived sporadically over the course of 45 minutes, and by the time the last dish arrived, everyone else had already finished eating. We had ordered fresh seafood, something we were really looking forward to, but it was overcooked and rubbery, completely ruining the flavors.
On top of that, they made mistakes with our orders, adding even more chaos to the evening. We ended up paying 10,000 Thai Baht for the experience, but it was absolutely not worth the price.
Ice Seafood has potential with its location and concept, but it falls short where it matters most: food and service. It’s a place that disappoints when you factor in the price and the expectations of a high-quality dining experience. Significant improvements are needed before we’d...
Read moreDisappointing experience. The restaurant was overcrowded up to the limit. The waiters looked pathetic and couldn't do their job at all. It took about 20 minutes to just accept the order as they were running around in chaos and ignoring us, then it took about 40-50 minutes to serve everything.
Of course, they messed up the order and served us shrimps intended to another table and then served shrimps again even though we only ordered one portion. Then they began to argue about what we ordered...
Everything was slow and the place was as loud as the train station during rush hour. Drunk guys screaming, kids fighting and waiters running around like it's some natural disaster going on. Not even close to relaxing or somehow an enjoyable experience. When I got outside I was happy this ended and I could enjoy some quietness as my head started to hurt and I was really tired.
The grilled fish was tasty, but they served it without any sides which I didn't really understand. But it's hard to understand as waiters don't really speak English.
Probably this place might be enjoyable when it's empty, but if you see a full seated hall - just skip...

EDIT: ✍🏻 We went back for dinner the next evening and we ordered a few extra dishes: Papaya salad 🥗 Red curry prawns 🍤 BBQ prawns 🦐 (again) —————————————————————
Fresh and beautifully cooked seafood.
We ordered: Mixed fruits 🍉🍍 Fried crab 🦀 BBQ prawns 🦐 Chicken larb 🐔 Steam rice 🍚
The crab meat was delicate and sweet. The brown sauce with spring onion would have been great if it wasn’t a bit too salty.
✨BBQ prawns were big, succulent and served with homemade chilli dipping sauce. Must try!✨
Red curry prawns were tender and flavourful and it paired well with the som tum. 🍤
Chicken larb was missing seasoning: fish sauce and lime. Despite tasting quite bland, the chicken had a good texture and it came with veggies on the side.
The restaurant is clean, it is walking distance from Kamala Beach and the food is very well priced. We paid including drinks 1700 baht ~ $70 aud. Welcoming and attentive staff. Will return.
