Thanya Spa Phuket — Local services in Karon

Thanya Spa at Kata Phuket has a lot of potential to be one of the best in the area.

However, the minus 2 stars are for the:

1). Pre booking was made, arrive 10.45am for a 11.00am appointment for herbal compress massage, but looks like the shop just open (thought it was open at 10am?) and every one looks confused and try to swap me many times with another two guests whom just needing their body scrub?

2). Apart from the confusing system/protocol. The therapist we booked, then just told us she can not do herbal compress due to she have difficulty in breathing. Our expat friends told us to book with this therapist right from the start. As she has good skills etc.

3). They run out of paper/eco one time use underwear. Meaning, for oil massage and body massage, you need to wear your own undies...

4). Payment via debit card at the end seems to be an issue. Money was taken out from my account once the receptionist perform the card ATM on POS system where I did press the passcode. But was later claimed, the $ didnt come in. So I have no choice but to you them my SMS alert that this amount of $ was taken and transfered directly to Thanya Spa already etc.

Apart from that, everythig else is fine. Luckily, our therapist are quite good at what she is doing. Loosen the tight knots on our back etc.

Clean space, reasonable price. But please kindly upgrade the system to avoid confusement and misinterpreting. Understood most guests are walks in and walks in seems to be a not a problematic due to you guys have many therapists...

A few days ago we were in this beautiful place.What I want to note - the people who work there. They are very friendly and polite.

My boyfriend and I had a 1 hour Thai massage and it was amazing. Of all the massages and salons, this is the place we would return to. Clean, atmospheric, very good massage, high-quality, professional service, sometimes they ask how you feel and if everything is okay. I read that people are often annoyed (not in this salon, but in general) that masseuses talk during the session and this causes discomfort; we had a relaxing, quiet environment.

Special thanks to Oh and Sand - excellent masters of their work, we will come back to you. The best recommendations for these masters, but I am sure that the other masters in this salon are also professionals in their field. And yes, the price in this salon is higher than in others (1 h Thai massage- 499 Baht) , but it’s definitely worth it. The impressions are so positive that you want to go to them every day!

Was there on May, 20 at 12:30 with my husband. I chose oil massage and hot stones massage (90 min) and my husband chose oil massage and facial massage (75 min).

First minus: they did oil massage and Indian head massage for me instead of the one that I chose.

Second minus: the duration of my massage and my husband’s massage was the same, although I expected mine to be 15 minutes longer. And the price difference is 200 baht! RECOMMENDATION: note the time that they start to do massage for you and when they finish it. Don’t let them deceive you.

Third minus: they almost didn’t react when I told them that the massage they gave me wasn’t the one that I asked for and that the time of massage was shorter than it was supposed to be. Just said: “Sorry, madam”. It’s not the way that I see that the problem with unsatisfied customer should be solved when all the fault is yours.

Oil massage was good (gentler than in usual massage salons but not wow-wow). I’d also prefer masseuse wouldn’t wear her Cartier nail bracelet 😅 because it...
