Called in to Vitaphorn one evening during an incessant downpour of rain during October that never let up for over a week. However, that did not dampen our spirits and we thoroughly enjoyed most of our dishes, all which were beautifully presented. Sadly, on the evening we were there they were terribly understaffed and seemed to be endlessly running out take-out orders for Grab. Staff scurrying to and thro past our table during our meal was a little off putting. And due to their constant attention to these take-out orders at times we were kept waiting when needing service. The dishes themselves were generally quite tasty and flavoursome, although the satay chicken was a little over cooked and the flavour of the prawn cocktail sauce wasn’t quite balanced. We paid just over 1500 baht for several dishes, including dessert, and a few drinks. Strangely enough the highlight of the evening was the dessert, banana fritter. Absolutely delicious, give it a try if you are there. All in all an enjoyable evening buy they definitely need to bolster their staff numbers. Vitaphorn is in a small soi by Karon Beach and the restaurant has a very family feel. Well worth a visit if you are...

We decided to try this quaint little restaurant in Karon, a try on a Sunday evening for dinner. The food was acceptable and the service satisfactory. However, when we attempted paying for our dinner by card, the restaurant wanted to charge an additional 3% on a 1,400 baht check, and wouldn't budge even post offering a choice amongst Amex, Visa or MasterCard.
Which primitive srltone age era are we living in? I understand a charge being levied if a transaction does not cross a minimum specified limit of a few hundred baht, but this was not the case. This is not only typical high-handed behaviour but also encouraging non-transparent cash transactions, when the whole world is moving towards digital currency and...
Read moreWould never recomend this place for visiting. Staff hardly speaks English. It took three people to take and understand my order. I took Mai Thai drink and crab meat with vegetables. It took them 40 minutes to prepare it and place was not too busy. When they brought my order I've noticed that crab meat was mixed with white fish fillet and tasted completely different. When I told them about that, they brought new crab meat and said they would change previous one. Actually it my first time when Thai people try to scam...
