A truly unforgettable 60th birthday celebration!
My 60th birthday celebration at Gigi Italian Ristorante was an absolutely perfect evening, deserving of a full five stars.
From start to finish, the entire experience was flawless. We'd planned the event with the restaurant manager beforehand, and every detail we agreed upon was executed perfectly. The private area of the restaurant was beautifully decorated, creating a special and intimate atmosphere for our celebration with 19 guests.
The food and drinks were magnificent. We enjoyed a fantastic spread of classic Italian dishes, including delicious cold cuts, flavorful meatballs from the oven, and creamy burrata. The pasta and pizzas were all amazing, as well as the beautiful rib-eye, cooked to perfection. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the night, ensuring all our needs were met with a smile.
To cap off the night, the restaurant presented a full tiramisu cake with candles and a celebratory song. It was a wonderful, heartwarming surprise that made the evening even more memorable. On top of the fantastic experience, the bill was more than reasonable for the quality of food, service, and atmosphere we received.
Gigi Italian Ristorante truly provided a top-tier experience. I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking for a special place to celebrate a milestone or simply enjoy an incredible Italian meal. Thank you, Gigi, for making my 60th...
Read moreThis is a high-end Italian restaurant on a trendy strip of Sukhumvit Road. I have mixed emotions about this place since it did not meet its potential during my visit last night. Given the number of wealthy expats and tourists visiting this restaurant, I would've expected that the servers would better communicate the dining experience its guests would enjoy based on his/her selection of the menu items. I chose the "Halibut & Stracciatella" from the Daily Specials menu. I received a bowl of apparently sour-ish cheese or yogurt with strips of halibut and an over-abundance of green bell pepper cubes. It was an unappetizing visual presentation and the taste was uninteresting. My date took pity on me and we shared her grilled sea bass which was beautifully prepared and plated. The prices are not exhorbitant and I'll visit again, I'm sure, one day, but one of my pet peeves in dining is when a server does not enquire as to the diner's satisfaction with the meal and the overall experience. (I refused to eat my entree after one bite.) A few managers hovered about but none bothered to visit the table or even to say "hello" or check in with their guests. I deduct a star for the lousy halibut but hope they'll win my confidence back on a subsequent visit. Gigi's can do...
Read moreI dined at Gigi Ristorante in Bangkok tonight and overall, it was a delightful experience that deserves a solid review.
The food was generally very good, specially the Pizza was VERY GOOD, showcasing a range of flavors that brought a taste of Italy to the heart of Bangkok. I particularly enjoyed the authenticity of the dishes, which reminded me of my culinary experiences in Italy over the past seven years.
However, I did have one minor comment for : the pistachio ice cream. While it was enjoyable, I found it to be a bit more like sorbet than the smooth and creamy Italian gelato I was hoping for. This could be an area for improvement, especially for those who have a discerning palate for genuine Italian desserts.
Additionally, I noticed that the attention to guest service could use a little enhancement. I had to pour my own drinks a couple of times, which is not ideal for a full dining experience. A bit more attentiveness from the staff would go a long way in enhancing the overall atmosphere.
Despite these small hiccups, the rest of the experience was quite good, and I would definitely recommend Gigi Ristorante to anyone looking for a tasty Italian...
