KINKIN Food กินกิน is a spot in Bangkok that’s earned a reputation for its generous portions, especially the crab fried rice, which comes loaded with heaps of crab meat. Another standout is the squid—sourced daily from the owner’s family fishing boat, it’s fresh, tender, and delicious. The fried appetizers make for a solid start, and the mango sticky rice dessert is a perfect ending, beautifully done (though it skips the green beans, which some might miss).
On the flip side, the mantis shrimp was underwhelming and skippable, and the stir-fried dishes come in surprisingly small portions—definitely order an extra if you’re sharing with more than two people.
There was a bit of a mix-up during our visit today. We ordered stir-fried morning glory with garlic and chili, but the waiter brought salted fish stir-fried kale instead. We didn’t notice at first and started eating. Halfway through, the correct morning glory dish arrived, and when the manager saw we already had a plate, she questioned the waiter. Realizing the mistake, she told the waiter to take the kale away. We didn’t say anything, but it felt off—they should’ve at least acknowledged the error instead of acting like it didn’t happen. Worse, they never told us our original order was delayed. That lack of transparency left a sour note.
Overall, the flavors are strong, and aside from the stir-fries, the portions are decent. For three of us, the bill came to about 2,000 THB, which is fair but not a steal. The food’s worth it, but the service hiccup dims the shine a bit.

Read moreWhen in Thailand, never miss the opportunity to eat their crab fried rice. So many outlets offering this dish, from restaurants to road side stall, some even managed to get a Michelin nod with the dish. None of Singapore’s Thai restaurants can compare.
Reading good reviews about this place, I came for their crab fried rice. Decided to add chicken wings thinking if I can’t finish I’ll just doggy bag them (in Thailand no extra charge for packing food to takeaway 😀). Total cost was 642 baht. Not the cheapest.
The fried rice did not disappoint. First of all the portion is large and the large, whole pieces of crab meat well justifies the price of 380 baht. There was taste of wok heat in the rice but crab meat was cold. Big contrast when you taste your first scoop in your mouth. But still one of the best crab meat fried rice I’ve ever had.
The chicken wings were mid joint wings cut into two, in tradition Thai style (those who have been to Greyhound Cafe will be familiar). I actually prefer it this way because the seasoning gets into the Center of the wing better than if it was left uncut.
My plans to takeaway went out of the window. Both dishes tasted so good I couldn’t stop (see pic).
Service is good and very polite with smiles throughout. Had an issue with their POS machine which did not accept my foreign credit cards (local guy paying before me had no issues). Finally I paid in cash. Just keep that in mind in case you want to come try this place. Highly...
Read moreWent down to try for lunch from friend's recommendation as I am a fan of scrambled egg crab rice. Have tried Herehai and Hereduan before.
Small shop with limited seatings. Place is clean with nice decorations. Staff are welcoming and friendly.
Ordered premium crab fried rice, crab scrambled eggs over rice, sun dried squid, thai milk tea and water.
Fried rice has good wok hei and really fragrant. The crab meats chunks and lumps were of good sizes and delicious. Scrambled eggs were of perfect flowyness and well seasoned too. Perfect with the white rice. Sun-dried squid taste was ok but not for me. Thai milk tea was lovely, good thickness and not overly sweet.
Overall dining experience was great. Kudos to the staff for the...
