Hotel room shows age. Shower is tricky to use. Breakfast buffet is sufficient but is short of what the way was before covid. This location is great with accessible to sky train. High end Emporium department store and many eateries around. You can still take sky train to go to other areas with decent restaurants, great food course decent prices than around here. Sukhumvit is highly congested and pollution is bad.
This Double Tree by Hilton here at Soi 26 doesn't seem have much for me to brag. Front desk staff some are friendly; however, some might need to improve their customer services and knowledge in order to show the efforts on their customer service skills, it takes more than a basic knowledge of how to check-in or check-out guests.
I found out the hard way that this Double Tree by Hilton on 18/1 Sukhumvit, Soi 26 Klong Toei location on doesn't offer guest with Diamond status daily a complementary drink, also Hilton said that Diamond guests can get daily complementary breakfast but the truth was we were paying extra when selecting room rate or even with using points system, and complimentary breakfast is not free offer any longer as the way their salespeople claimed. Benefits are now cutting back as it appears..
While other Double Tree by Hilton hotels that we have stayed before offer a daily complimentary drink but not at this location. It is my understanding that all Hilton hotels managed by Hilton system has to comply to Hilton policy for guest who have earned Diamond status. When I inquired the front desk, they said with a cold shoulder we don't offer daily complimentary drink like other Double Tree, I talked to the Director (or whatever his title was I couldn't recall) who told me that it's correct because our policy don't offer complimentary drinks besides that we don't have executive lounge here either. He made up to us for two bad drinks made by the pool bartender yesterday and two tickets as complementary tickets for the next day, we stay here for 6 days and 5 nights, it's not that we are big drinkers but by offering two drinks for Diamond status guests each day would break their banks? It is by making an exception this location doesn't have executive lounge to offer Diamond guests with complimentary drinks while some other locations don't have executive lounges either but they still provide to Diamond status a free drink daily.
I plan to explore some other options and something else before I think about Hilton hotel brands in my future travels because their services and benefits seems going down hill.
Overall this location here doesn't seem to have anything that we see could go above and beyond a 3-star is. I have traveled to many places in the world. I thought staying with one brand name would be better but now I have learned it is not the case. Same with airlines too, they go...
Read moreJust completed a 10 nights stay at DoubleTree by Hilton on Sukhumvit (ckd out 2/26/22) and LOVED IT!
Location is 9/10 stars - less than a 5mins walk Emporium mall/Phrom Phong BTS skytrain station if you walk down Sukhumvit soi 24 to Hilton hotel (then cut through it to the back of the hotel to walk 10 steps over to the rear entrance of DoubleTree) - this is a shorter walk than if you were to go down Sukhumvit soi 26 from/to the skytrain station.
Staff is 10/10 - The PEOPLE/staff is the heart of guest experience and DoubleTree got a 10 for that! Thank you for great training and empowering them to help guests. Joy at ck in and ck out was very professional and welcoming and her English is excellent - she was the perfect person for me to see 1st and last when I left. Front desk staff Manonom was so kind and helpful to confirm my late 1pm ck out time AND to print my negative PCR test result for my flight home - this is exactly the kind of service I would hope to see from DoubleTree/Hilton staff. Pae - who I interacted with at the pool/bar area, was always friendly/helpful (not just to me but I see him do that with all guests coming onto the 8th floor) - I used the gym and pool EVERY day for 10 days and saw him there over 7 days and he never failed to be friendly and welcoming. The young lady (about 5'2" feet tall) who made-up rooms on the 19th floor, she was always very courteous and friendly AND made my room very nice/clean with total attention to detail (she saw I used a lot of shampoo/soap and gave me extra without me having to ask).
Hotel/room/gym/pool - I had the breakfast buffet at the Hilton for 10 days and was impressed with the wide variety of choices - staff was very nice too. Wide variety of breads/pastries, a noodle and egg/omelette station, nice Thai and Chinese dishes, plentiful fruit and salad choices, good selection of cold cuts and cheeses, nice tea and coffee choices and GREAT that the breakfast buffet is open 7-10am!
VERY satisfied with my room, especially the shower (great temp control and water volume). Spacious room, big bed, comfy pillows and great bathroom design with sliding panels for light and privacy. Very satisfied with how clean the gym and pool/pool lounge/bar area were kept. All food pictures are from the generous breakfast buffet. Keep up the excellent work! Would love to...
Read moreA high end 4 star hotel in a great walking location for train, food, shopping and entertainment. Good value relative to its price and location. Sits on the same block as the Bangkok Hilton.
Context: stayed deluxe room king size on level 23. It's highest floor. 6 nights and 7 days.
Rooms: 4/5 rooms are excellent. Good size and still modern, clean and quiet. Marble bathrooms and shower. Unfortunately No bath tub. Room size Upto 2 people. Rooms are super sound proof which is great for Bangkok. See my other reviews as even the best 5 star hotels in Bangkok have issues in this regard. Bed linens, pillows and bed 5 star like. bathroom amenities are good and on request.
Facilities: 5/5 has its own pool, good size modern gym and pool side bar elevated district views on level 7. Surprisingly unobstructed given its the middle of city and entertainment area.
Food and Beverage: 4/5 has a bar ground floor lobby connected to breakfast buffet and restaurant. Also has the level 7 pool bar. The bars are Spacious sweating but no huge. Opening hours are also limited close at 10:30pm so not much night life. Though can head across to the connected Hilton hotel bar which has more vibe and activity.
Breakfast buffet is surprisingly large and selection very good for a 4 star and the size of hotel. Good food and drink selection mix western and Asian. Have chefs on hand to cook eggs, omelettes, Noddle soups, stir fry and so on as you like.
Service: 5/5 service was good. No incidents and the concierge was particularly good and always helpful with bookings, directions, and luggage.
Location: 5/5 this is a standout. Though not under cover directly connected to the BTS train or shopping centre like some hotels, it's only level minutes walk to the BTS Station and Emporium shopping complex. The location is also has great food and entertainment along sukumvit road and district which is only a few minutes walk. For the Hotel quality and price, I think this location is a stand out and good consideration for your stay.
Overall would recommend this Hotel for it's rooms,...
