This was such a delightful find after an exhausting morning at the doctor's office. When I searched "restaurants near me" I was excited to see a Lebanese restaurant. As a Greek American, I have a strong affinity for other Mediterranean foods and cultures but Lebanese is a particular favorite but, I've often been disappointed. Today I was overjoyed at the personal service by the owner, Rafiq (whose grandmother was Greek and father was Lebanese and it's his father who started the restaurant here 40 years ago!), and by the delicious, freshly cooked foods. Starting with a mint tea in a traditional silver tea pot and proceeding to freshly baked pita and garlic dip, then a mixed plate of appetizers created especially for me (after great discussions about my likes and his specialties) and lamb kofta kebabs (a must have for this Greek!) and ending with a fabulous fresh baklava. Everything was delicious but my favorites (do I really have to choose?!?) were the grilled eggplant (that's a vegetable that's hard to do well so I was very suspicious but so glad I tried it as it was tender, full of flavor, and not at all bitter), the pita (golden fluffiness!), the dolmades (vegetarian rice-filled grape vine leaves), and the basil ice (not sure what else to call it but it's yummy!) and the baklava (literally still warm from the oven.... crispy, not soaked in honey like too many versions of this, a delightful mixture of macadamia/cashew/walnut/almond nuts, and chewy goodness that you don't want to leave your mouth). Hmmm, but, of course, the salad (without tomatoes, per my request) had a nice freshness with a unique blend of parsley, onions, and feta but I missed my black Kalamata olives which were replaced by green olives and the lamb was delicious with a side of potatoes and grilled onions (but I should have gotten the shawarma-style as I prefer that to the minced style), and the garlic dip and the yogurt dip were also delightful. Can't wait until my next doctor's appointment so I might have to...
Read moreThis place lives rent-free in my heart. This is probably my go-to restaurants when I am feeling a little down or anything.
This is my honest takeaway: this is probably THE BEST Lebanese restaurant that you'll ever go to in Bangkok. The place really lives up to its hype. Plus, the place has a great vibe to it too. The furniture and the design of the place really makes you feel like you are perhaps having dinner with a Middle East vibe. Whenever I come here to eat, it really brings back my mood and the feeling to make/do great things.
Keep in mind though, the place is not cheap for sure, at least when you compare it to other restaurants. And yes, recently they did reduce the quantity portion of the dishes. Now yes, unlimited Pita bread BUT, the owner is definitely smart. He prices the dishes in such a way that it kinda feels like you're "paying" for the pita bread too. I am not finding fault here, but I would like to acknowledge the genius mind of the owner to perhaps give ideas to others who are looking forward to make a restaurant in the near future hahaha.
Speaking about the owner, I vibe with him fr. He's an awesome man, and he's quite old too. You can learn a lot from him too, and idk if I'm wrong but my mother told me that he was a really good maths teacher when he was in his career phase (correct me if I'm wrong ahahaha). He and his wife really makes you feel homely, which is why you'll actually feel good when you're eating there. That's why this place lives in my heart rent-free.
TLDR: Great restaurant and must-try. Yes it's definitely not cheap but this place will make you feel homely, and you'll definitely have a great time at the...
Read moreI stumbled upon this wonderful Lebanese restaurant this evening and decided to give it a try. I always believe that Lebanese cuisine has a variety of vegetables, which is exactly what I was looking for. Upon entering, I immediately felt the warmth and friendliness of the owner. He kindly offered to help me with the menu, and I was more than happy to take his recommendations.
This is hands down the best Lebanese cuisine I have experienced in Bangkok. The garlic sauce is an absolute must-try; it's a family recipe passed down from the owner's mother. I also highly recommend their eggplants and pita breads. The complimentary salad and pita bread are generous in portion and absolutely delicious.
The ambiance of the restaurant is incredibly inviting, and the food is not only delicious but also reasonably priced. Most importantly, the owner is exceptionally kind, friendly, and humorous. Walking into his restaurant feels like coming home.
What truly sets this restaurant apart is the owner’s dedication and attention to detail. All dishes must be shown to the owner before being served to the customers. This level of care and passion is evident in the quality of the food.
I also had the pleasure of meeting his wife who was equally welcoming and kind. Together, they create a wonderful dining experience for their guests.
I am deeply grateful to have met the owner and his wife and experienced their hospitality. I highly recommend anyone visiting Thailand to come to this restaurant. You won’t regret it!
Thank you for the wonderful dining experience, and I wish the restaurant much success and many happy...
