My friend brought me to this very small restaurant at Sukhumvit Soi 23. I love spicy, and I told her I also like Thailand minced chicken/pork/beef with rice (also called Pad Kra Pao). So she introduced this place, which she mentioned that their specialty is rice with minced chicken/pork/beef.
The moment I stepped into the restaurant, I noticed the small dining area with about 15 to 18 seats. Although it is small, it is very cozy and cooling with air conditioner in the restaurant. The menu comprised mostly minced meat with rice dishes. I was surprised that they also have aged beef but will be more costly. They also have level 0 to 4 spiciness level up choose from. I ordered their specialty, which is minced pork with rice topped with their signature super powerful scrambled egg. I also choose the highest spiciness level as I am a spicy lover.
After ordering, my meal and drink were served in a short time. I was quite surprised that the minced pork with rice tastes really good and really spicy. Even though I am a spicy lover, this dish makes me drink a lot of cold water to cool myself. The super powerful scrambled egg was really good, which was very soft and mouth watering that really made the dish more delicious. I would definitely recommend trying the super powerful scrambled egg.
I absolutely love the service here as well. The courteous staff noticed my sweating face after consuming the spicy dish and kindly offered a complimentary coconut ice cream. The ice cream really helped to cool...
Read moreYou can eat krapao rice everywhere in Thailand but it’s not always delicious. Quite a difficult task to find authentic dry style krapao.
This place is popular among Japanese residents/tourists and Thai locals for good reason. We love real hearty, tasty food.
For me, the most delicious way to eat krapao is with minced beef! Much more flavorful than pork and chicken. Whether you can tolerate spicy food or not, at least you have to try less spicy to get proper experience.
Krapao here seasoned perfectly. Spicy, savory salty. High heat stir fry, charred minced beef, garlic, chili, fine aroma of Thai basil. Dry style without being Westernized saucy krapao, that’s a big nope.
Crispy fried duck egg also recommend as it’s the ultimate topping for any krapao. The yolk is much richer than chicken egg (sorry chicken). Also don’t forget to sprinkle some chili and garlic (from the fish sauce jar) on fried egg!
Stir fry instant noodle here also scrumptious. Thai people love instant noodle but the quality improved much higher when you stir fry it with suitable ingredients like minced pork, egg, garlic, chili, Thai basil. You can easily make it at home but it taste way better at a restaurant.
I will come back for 45 days dry aged beef krapao. It’s sold out though, I wonder how long this menu becomes...
Read moreWOW - THE FOOD HERE IS AMAZING!
I stopped to eat here today because I saw a small line of Thai people waiting outside. Thais waiting for Thai food, has to be good 😀. They also have photos outside advertising their Gapow made with 5 different peppers. There is also an option to try the Gapow with Carolina Reaper Peppers 🤯 🌶️ 🥵 Maybe I try next time. 😂
I was able to sit down right away because there are stools at small bars, the line was for people waiting for tables.
I ordered the house special, spicy basil pork made with 5 different chili peppers. 🌶️
WOW 🤯 THATS A DELICIOUS SPICY BASIL PORK 🌶️ 🌿 🐖 🤤 😋
The service is good. The food comes out slow. The restaurant was always full. By the time I left the line outside was about 20 people.
The atmosphere is a very small restaurant maximizing their occupancy levels with small tables, tiny stools, and narrow areas to walk. This makes the eating experience more memorable.
I’m definitely coming back here and going to take friends here to try some authentic Thai food. Maybe try the reaper next time...
