Read moreIf you want 5 star amenities with 1 star service- this is your place. After an amazing two weeks in Thailand, staying at very nice 3 and 4 star hotels, we were so excited to end our trip at a premier 5 star hotel in Bangkok. The pros of this place are: Nice pool area, great tennis courts, decent breakfast buffet, convenient location and the occasional helpful staff member but overall, I would say, stay away if you can. Here are just a few things that happened in our single night stay at the Grande Center Point Terminal 21 hotel:
Crazy long check in line and after waiting in it, they told us our room wasn’t available but checked us in anyways and told us to wait a few hours, so then when we got back, they told us we’d need to wait in the same extremely long line just to check back in. After checking back in, they told us they gave away our room so they “upgraded us” but it turned out to be the wrong bed size. We asked for the correct room and upon getting in, we realized they just gave us the same room setup but pushed the two beds together. No one answers phones or emails, for example: we needed to coordinate COVID testing and they never responded to our emails. We called multiple times from the room to no avail. We even had other staff try calling the front desk from their phones and they couldn’t get through. A/C doesn’t work. The hotel called in a guy to fix it but the A/C never dropped below 21 Celsius, which may seem cold but feels very warm when throughout our trip, we had A/C units in all our hotels that actually worked and would be able to cool the room much better. The bedroom had a carpet that was peeling off the ground and was extremely sticky in front of the bed. Early in the morning, we got a call from the front desk, asking if they could speak with someone named Mr. Kim, so obviously they had the wrong room number. This was a very unfortunate mixup as it woke us up and we couldn’t fall back asleep and we had the 22 hour flight the next day back home.
Also, if you do choose to stay here: the pickup in front of the hotel is almost impossible to find for Grab drivers, so be prepared to have to walk far and coordinate with the front desk in Thai to have them explain to the drivers how...

My husband and I checked in on Valentine's day for a 3 night stay. This was our second year in a row staying at Grande Center Point Terminal 21 because we really like the convenient location. We arrived a little bit earlier than the check in time so we dropped our luggage off to go explore for a couple of hours and returned after the check in time. Once we were checked in and arrived at the 20th floor to enter our room, we immediately noticed the entire floor smelling like cigarette smoke despite it being a non-smoking floor. We entered our room and it smelled like cigarette smoke too. We called the front desk right away to see if we could change rooms or floors because my husband and I are very sensitive to smoke, but they said we could not change rooms because there were no more rooms left. Instead they were able to leave an air purifier in our room upon request. Unfortunately, this did not solve the issue since the whole floor smelled so we had to go out and purchase our own air refreshers and plug in refreshers. This temporarily helped but did not ultimately solve the issue. Every single day during our stay the entire floor reeked of cigarette smoke and would affect our room too. During our stay, nobody checked up on us to see if we were doing okay.. We both had a very bad headache every morning because the smoke smell never went away..
Besides from that, we had minor issues such as not receiving towels after room cleaning despite leaving a tip but that was not a big deal at all. However, I don't think it was fair that we had to endure the cigarette smoke scent every single day despite paying for a non-smoking room.
We decided that we will no longer be staying here for our future visits to Bangkok.. We wish the staff well and hope...
