Dae Jang Gum — Restaurant in Khlong Toei Nuea Subdistrict

Great Korean flavors! We went here for lunch. We had the cold noodle, the porkback soup and the seafood pancake. The soup was ok. A lot of meat on the bones and I guess also authentic taste. Ut was just not my taste due to the herbs in it. It was nice to try though. The cold noodle (no photo) was just like we had in Korea and so was the seafood pancake. It was crispy and warm en nice. Banchan are also provided (free of charge). They were very tasty!

You get free water (and refills) and at the end of the meal they also give you a small plate of fruit (we had watermelon) and a basket of cripsy rice with sugar. I would come back for just the crispy rice, it was sooooo gooooood!

Staff is very friendly too! They only thing is that they also have bbq dishes and there's no ventilation system at the table, so you'll end up smelling like bbq. Other than that,...

Ok. This restaurant is for now the best Korean BBQ in Bangkok for me. I even forgot to take pictures before I ate. I know, I didn't expect it either. My sample size of Korean BBQ in Bangkok is probably less than ten. But, for sure, it is better than any of the restaurants in the Koreantown Sukhumvit Plaza soi 12.

But the Kalbi is really soft, juicy and flavorful. I asked them to cook it in the kitchen. The seafood pancake is good. Crispy on the outside. The spicy pork is also really good. There is another restaurant that I reviewed with similar flavor of the spicy pork. The kimchee is different than typical kimchee. It is crunchy and it's probably not preserved....

Not the cheapest, the best tasting or the most extensive menu, but this restaurant is our favourite Korean in Bangkok.

The standard dishes are present, barbecue meat dishes for you to grill on the table are around 500 baht per generous serving, you can also ask to have them cook it for you from the kitchen. Soups and side dishes are good also

Service is very good and meet our expectations every time

The place is less lively than those around Korean town, so does lend itself to more relaxed atmosphere and deep conversation, doable as romantic...
