SYMBOLIC CAFE — Restaurant in Ko Lipe

Shocking service. Slower than a tortoise, can’t even speak English or follow basic instructions. Was made to wait over an hour for food only to be told the food we ordered wasn’t available anymore. Then I ordered a replacement, waited another hour. When I kicked off, the waitress (who looks like a kid) looks at me like I’m talking gibberish. To make matters worse, I had ordered drinks (which I never received) and they tried to charge me for it. I left angry with a crying hungry 3 year old who waited hours for nothing. I’ll never come back here again. Place looks like it’s being run by kids who don’t have a clue. They should change the name of this place from Symbolic to SHAMBOLIC. Absolutely...

The place has great location with a sea view and very nice interior. Unfortunately when we came the only thai dish available was pad thai, so we ordered it. I’m sad to say this, but it was bad. Portion is small, the food itself is not tasty. We’ve had pad thai in different places and this one was the worst.

This kind of food only works when you are extremely hungry and don’t have time to go somewhere else. My friend ordered a traditional thai tea and got a twinings teabag in a cup.

Do not, I repeat, do not eat here. I ordered a simple stirred fried chicken with cashews and rice. I got a couple of long hairs in the rise. Made me almost want to puke. The staff said it was from a plant. In the rice?? I got no refund or excuse. Luckily i only had one bite of the food.

My friend ordered stirred vegi with shrimps. He got four shrimps and maybe 100 gram of vegi, which was mostly chilli and basil leaves.
