Food - ordered 3 curries (beef vindaloo, paneer mutter and chicken palak), onion bajis, Kashmiri rice and garlic naan. Everything was amazing. Very tasty good. Highly recommend everything we ordered. Naan was particularly good. Cooked in the little traditional oven. Curries were very flavourful and tasty. Just the right amount of spice. Lots of veg, everything tasted fresh. Delicious!
Drinks - ordered two large leo beers. Very nice and cold in stubby holders.
Atmosphere - friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Warm lighting. Tables could have been a little better I think as was quite old plastic.
Service - excellent fast and friendly service.
Price - quite expensive overall, but we did order a lot of food. Everything was 1100 total for two people. We could have reduced this by ordering less. We were struggling to finish the amount we ordered! But for the quality of the food, I would pay it again!
Overall - highly recommend this restaurant...
Read moreEdit: A lot in the world has changed since 2020, but unfortunately the food here has as well. I understand smaller portions and price increases, especially on a small island… but I didn’t even come close to finishing my dish. The quality of ingredients along with flavour went downhill. It’s not the worst, but it’s not great Indian and for the same amount of money you can eat way better on Lipe. It’s too bad as I’d been looking forward to this place again for 3 years. Below was my original review. I also deleted all prior photos as it’s not reflective of today :(
Original: Given how much I love Thai food, I never thought that my trip to Koh Lipe would end up with me at an Indian restaurant almost every day. This place is a must try, the spices in the dishes are spot on and the made to order naan is fantastic. Reasonable prices, spectacular food, and great service. I’ve moved on to Langkowi and I’m missing my dinners at Bombay...
Read moreBOMBAY Indian restaurant is by far THE best Indian restaurant on Koh Lipe island. It was recommended by a friend and then again by our hotel. And I can see why!!
We stayed on the island for a total of 5 days and ate here every single day! The menu includes a variety of rices, Naan breads and curries to choose from, and let you choose your level of spiciness, and also offer a variety of colorful, flavorful Lassi smoothies.
The service is outstanding, they were always on top of anything we needed as guests, and even took extra time to make sure we had enough fans to keep us cool.
I highly recommend Bombay Indian restaurant to anyone who loves good quality Indian food. Even if you don’t like Indian food, come to this place and it’ll change your mind!
