Feels very uncomfortable and not safe. There are at least three huge packs of stray dogs wandering around randomly howling days and nights. I counted one of the packs yesterday - over 14 dogs! I truly believe it’s unacceptable for any tourist destination and it’s very clear that local businesses and governors aren’t doing anything about it, just making money on the island fool of trash and stray dogs. Maybe Lipe was a wonderful island one day.. but apparently not anymore. Two other beaches Sunrise and Pattaya have a little bit better situation with nicer sand and water to swim if you find a spot between boats. Plus, hundreds of annoying motorbikes chaotically run from 6am to midnight with local teens speeding like crazy between walking tourists. I find Koh Lipe a terrible place to relax and stay and really regret bringing my family here for entire week. Thailand has many more beautiful not crowded safe and friendly islands. People of Koh Lipe just can’t cope with...

Sunset Beach is located 900 metres walking distance from Koh Lipe...

I was lucky enough to catch one truly magnificent sunset there, and one of not such resplendent nature, though whether you will is of course a roll of the dice like it is with everyone. I cannot begin to fathom the arrogance of some of these truly cretinous reviews bemoaning the presence of dogs or the quality of sand.. take it up with the pack leader and the epochs it takes to tidally erode quartz and feldspar, I’m sure it will be taken into consideration. The beach was relatively clean, though like every one the world over, it does bear the stamp of the careless and inconsiderate who seem to lack the capacity and opposable digits to identify and make use of a bin. Just a short walk or tuk tuk from walking street will...
