We just left the resort this morning and I feel like writing quickly a report as it is was almost empty when we left.||The past reviews are not accurate anymore as the management changed and the island also..||Pattaya beach is still a no stay as it is full of boats, with a doubtful water and not exotic anymore as it is to crowded.. Great place to watch the sunset and have dinner though..||Sunset Beach is quite the opposite, dead and a little sad. Some resorts have not reopened after the covid.||Sunrise beach is the only option today but, through the years it has become a long boats parking. Almost half of the beach is a parking!!||The extreme right, when you watch the sea has one or 2 resorts without boats. But they seem to be high end family resorts.||And you have the left, starting from the Lipe Beach resort, the neighbour of the Andaman until the end at the Mountain resort. That's 10 resorts, not more and a few seem to be very expensive and high end.||The beach of the Andaman is beautiful, no boats and clear water. You enjoy swimming in front of the bungalows.||The best of the best swim, under the mountain resort, is less than 10mn away.||We slept in the bungalow B1, right on the beach: all the comfort you need from wifi in the room to a good aircon, toilet, excellent bed and big windows. And a great hamac where I spent so much time!! For less than 4000 Baths.||We extended our stay from 5 nights to 10.||Regarding breakfast, we took it next door, at the Lipe Beach resort. Great breakfast in what appears to be a great resort as well (without boats!!)||The owner of the resort, very friendly and helpful, just arrived a couple of days ago. Maybe a good breakfast and a real restaurant will be in play when you visit.||The girl taking care of you at the reception does not speak english but she has such a beautiful smile and is so friendly that you manage very well with her.||But, with the beach and the comfort of the room and the breakfast next door we had a perfect stay!!!||Last, but not least, Ko Lipe has become a construction site. It is everywhere and can be quite noisy. Do not book to many days as you may have to change resort if there is...
Read moreThe photos in this Tripadviser location show the wrong resort. We were just there for a week and left this morning 2/17/2025. These photos look nothing like it.||Decent place. New buildings, things still getting worked out. Restaurant in the morning is great for breakfast. Really nice buffet. Great staff. Beds are rock hard. Ask for a pad and the housekeeping will bring you one. It helps a bit. ||Water for swimming is beautiful. Good fish species for snorkeling right off the beach. Unfortunately they are not controlling the boat traffic and you could easily get hit by a large taxi boat while snorkeling. (We have snorkeled all over the world for 40 years--this place needs more attention to saving the reef---it is a lot of easy things but you have to get on it soon.|| Some taxi boats are running 4 cylinder car motors with straight pipes--not mufflers, so incredibly, insanely loud. There is way too much boat activity going on above the coral. I predict by 2027 or so the coral will be wrecked and the fish gone. It happens all over the world with a rush to tourism without the proper controls. Visitors are picking up pieces of coral off the reef, trying to feed the fish with it. Walking all over it. Very sad. In areas of Mexico and other places they have caught this in time with elaborate signs at the resorts on how to treat the reef so it will last for generations. Nothing happening like that in front of this resort. Very short term thinking going on...
Read moreThe Andaman is at the quiet end of Sunrise Beach which is definitely the best location as the beach is wide and there are almost no longtail boats moored here. Safe swimming and good for snorkeling especially around the remains of the concrete jetty. There are resorts all along the beach but just to the south of the Andaman the beach narrows and there are hundreds of longtail boats which come and go all day long - almost impossible to swim or snorkel here. If you can afford it take a bungalow right at the front - well worth it to wake up in the morning right on the beach. The bungalows are spacious and clean with a huge bathroom with hot water. The AC worked well - almost too powerful! Good fridge in room which we found very useful. There are no safety deposit boxes in the rooms but to be honest there was no evidence of crime/theft anywhere on the island. We always felt safe there. Walking Street is a short 10 minute walk along a lighted track.||Only a couple of negative points: the restaurant is not great and they need more sunbeds on the beach as it's always an early morning fight if you want one for the day. The restaurant not really an issue as there are so many eateries to choose from nearby. The staff have limited English (which is normal) but nevertheless they always tried to be helpful. A great place to stay. We'll definitely...
