Food: We had questions about the restaurant's food handling practices. The staff explained that plates with raw meat and vegetables were placed on display in the sun, with no ice, at 4pm and these plates were then pulled and cooked for the customer up until closing at 10pm. Our Thai food dishes were very sweet (even sweeter than Thai food made in the US). We left the Gangsom uneaten.
Service: The response when we asked to be served freshly prepared meal as alternative to the display plate (it was 8pm) was they only had that item at display. We expressed our concern about the safety of the display plate as it had been out for over 4 hours. As the individual ordering the plate had stomach surgery in the recent past and we did not wish to have it served to him. We were informed that as it had been taken 'off display' we needed to pay for it. Atmosphere: Typical beachside restaurant with beach seating. Amenities at nearby restaurants made an impression, and we made a couple of requests. Response was "Not available...

The setting is lovely same as anywhere on koh samet on the beach. Music wasn't too loud so can talk comfortably.
Service was great with a smile

Food came out quickly. Probably helped we were here early and it was quiet. And...
