We were staying in a resort just around the corner and discovered this place on Google maps. It is open daily except for once a month. The food can only be described as heavenly and is popular among locals as well. We ate there as often as possible. No matter what we ordered, it was always excellent and the meals were obviously freshly prepared. They also have a good selection of cocktails to start with, while the food is prepared. The owners are very kind and attentive hosts. They do not advertise it, but Ned is fluent in English and German - a big plus for people like us who do not speak Thai at all. They are very friendly and animal loving people. At the time we were visiting, they were raising a baby squirrel that had fallen out of its nest. We spent 2,5 weeks in Lamai and everyday we went to Kais Bar at least once. This is just the best place to eat imaginable. The food tastes absolutely delicious, the prices are really fair since you get huge meals and the owners are such nice persons. The vibe of this place is really chill and you have a nice view over the banana and palm garden and over the sea.

We tried every thai dish on the menu - all of them are 10/10.

We really felt like home and enjoyed every stay, every meal and every conversation.
