Ouch. After the street hawkers insisted that they have both a Thai and an Indian chef, we made the mistake of eating here, hoping to find some great Thai food. We should have kept walking... Their mixed drinks are TERRIBLE. My friend ordered a mojito that looked more like swamp juice made of soda water, mint and lime pieces/chunks instead of a proper drink. It was unbalanced and nasty, so he sent it back. The Piña colada was disappointing and lacked rum. It was drinkable, at least, but overall, it was very mediocre. Next, Tom Kha Talay. No lime in it whatsoever. No heat, either, and the Indian waiter told us you can't make Tom Kha soup spicy... SAY WHAT? I thought they had a Thai chef? Anyway, it needed fish sauce, lots of lime juice, peppers and LOVE. After that miss came the Tod Mun Pla. Looked like perfectly uniform and round sausage slices, fresh from the freezer. Definitely not home made. Served with a side of Mae Ploy chili sauce. BORING, UNINSPIRED. Thier so-called Thai chef probably looks a lot like a microwave oven. The final kick in the butt came from the steamed mussels. The mussels were old and "mushy", and tasted... 'off'. I hope to hell they don't make me sick tonight. I don't know who's giving this place 5 star reviews, but they obviously didn't order Thai food or mixed drinks. Maybe this is what pharangs are used to, but believe me--this was terrible. Don't waste your time or money here looking for decent Thai food.

Absolutely fantastic food at King Indian. They have an extensive Indian menu as well as an extensive Thai menu, and as repeat visitors we’ve sampled both. The Thai menu is pretty comparable to other spots in the area with affordable options like 80baht pad Thai and pad see ew and these are fine but nothing special. However, when at King you should absolutely go for the Indian food. My absolute favorite is the Chicken tikka masala with some biriyani and a garlic naan. The green chutney is out of this world and ties all those bites together. Everything comes hot and fresh and full of flavor - there's a spicy spectrum as well and we went pretty hard on it but it was still balanced and delicious. Order a large Thai beer for 90 baht or take advantage of their full bar and enjoy the open-air restaurant ambiance looking out onto Ao Nang Beach Blvd. They also have pizza and pasta happy hour that looks great - one of these days I'll be able to try it, it's just so hard not to have the chicken tikka now that I am obsessed. When I’m back in Ao Nang I’ll certainly be back to King.

Having accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant on Day one of our trip to Krabi. We’ve been drawn to the restaurant every single day due to the vastness of menu options and amazingly friendly staff. We’ve had brunches and dinner sometimes both on the same day and found the repertoire of the chefs very impressive. We were able to ask for improvisation on certain dishes and managed to tailor drinks and starters to our liking. Every item on the menu is delicious beyond belief. If you are in town, I would highly recommend the restaurant; as long as you specify how spicy (or not) you like your food, you don’t be disappointed. We are looking forward to coming back to Krabi and enjoying the food in the near future.

Okay, vegetarian food was good but I am giving 2 stars because of the hospitality and behaviour of hotel manager and who is running it. They are simply money minded and not so warm at all. So we ordered chicken tandoori for 260ThB which was anyways higher on the side but the worst part was that chicken was smelling bad when we were eating, initially we did not realised but before completing our first piece we were sure so we spoke to the attendant to change the remaining pieces pr if they keep all chicken and sea food in same place then cancel order because we did not wanted to have sea food flavour. After some time, the manager and his brother came one by one and they asked us In very rude way how can chicken smell like seafood (like really have not I ate chicken before ) we told it’s smelling to us he said you already ate 2 pieces and then they took rest 2 pieces and charged us for 2 leg pieces. I felt rediculous and seriously this is kind of service you don’t expect from such fancy restaurants. Also there is guy who stands on road and try to convince you to eat here and if you don’t like food don’t pay - he says. This is completely disaster because if you have complaints on food they will try to put you down like how can it be bad! I wil pay extra somewhere and even though veg was good I will not go not recommend anyone to come here if you do not want to put your mood off before eating ( which happened to us last night) the guys standing there saying don’t like don’t pay is a scam. Never visit here if hospitality is...

Service and atmosphere are pretty average - neither awesome nor awful. However, the food was not remotely what I expect from a 4.6 star place.

Our group of 5 ordered 4 dishes, after being assured they have a Thai chef as well as an Indian chef. The tod mun was pre-packaged stuff you can get in the freezer section of any Asian market in the US, The accompanying dipping sauce seemed like basic Mae Ploy sweet chili sauce straight off the shelf. The mussels appeared to be old and came out mushy and unappetizing. The Tom kha talay was rather flavorless: it had no noticeable lime tartness, no hint of pepper heat, and needed fish sauce. Finally, the lamb samosas were okay, but the wrapper was rather doughy and overall just average.

Now for the drinks: The beer Chang was exactly as expected, straight out of the bottle. Two of us had fruit shakes, also exactly as expected. The Pina colada was okay, but not blended. The mojito was undrinkable and was sent back. The glass was essentially 25% lime pieces, 30% mint, and filled with soda water. It may have had some rum waved in its general direction, but one had to search for the taste of it. There certainly wasn't even a pony shot in the glass, nor was there any ice.

All in all, I cannot...
