I don’t usually write bad reviews, but my experience at The Best One Pad Thai was beyond unacceptable.
We sat down and were offered roti canai, which we didn’t even ask for. While deciding, my whole family saw the lady making roti canai scratching her hair mid-prep—and then continuing to handle the food without washing her hands. I get that mistakes happen, but this was so openly unhygienic that we immediately asked to cancel the order.
Instead of acknowledging the issue, the supervisor came out with a rude attitude and told us that even their frying station doesn’t wear gloves—basically asking if we wanted to cancel our other dishes too. The way he said it felt provocative, like he was challenging us instead of addressing the concern. Out of politeness, I just smiled and let it slide.
Then, when our Pad Thai was served, I witnessed something even worse. The lady at the counter deliberately coughed, then smirked at another waitress—as if they were mocking us! This wasn’t just bad service—it was outright disgusting.
The food itself was okay, but after seeing this, I completely lost my appetite. The worst part? Looking around at other families, parents, and kids eating without knowing what was happening behind the counter—just ewww.
I really didn’t want to write this, but after seeing it with my own eyes, I feel like people need to know. If you’ve had a similar experience here, please share because I refuse to believe I’m the only one who found this absolutely...

Stepped into a restaurant called “The Best One Pad Thai” - 🚩 #1, no serious Thai restaurant will proclaim they are number 1.
What lulled my senses was that it was crowded but I did realise that it was all foreigners - not a single Thai customer. 🚩 #2
Looking at reviews on Google Maps - most (if not all) are foreigners (mainly Caucasian and North Asian sounding names) reviewing and saying it was tasty. A little like me taking advice from the “idiotic tyre guide” on where to find good local food. 🚩 #3
Anyway, walked in an ordered a standard Pad Thai. Got a plate of gooey mess with no hint of any char.
Crushed peanuts, sugar and chili flakes came in little pre-packed bags ☹️🤦🏻♂️☹️ 🚩 #4 - 💯% catering to tourists.
Took a couple of bites and not only 0️⃣ “wok hei” but absolutely tasteless. 😡
Took a few bites and walked off… looks like it’ll have to be McDonald’s for supper later, to return me to a good mood. 🤣
I still gave 3 stars as restaurant was comfortable and service was fast...
