MOTI MAHAL PHUKET — Restaurant in Patong

Horrible and one of the most unforgettable experience that I had in abroad. Food was not good that still I can take it once but one of the staff member was counting the number of chicken pieces whenever I went to take food from buffet, constantly the person use to stand on my back and count. I had booked the restaurant in advance for 3 nights dinner but overall service, food and behavior was so bad that we just went once and ate food at other restaurant on next days. Since rotis were of maida, we asked for just 1 chapati of wheat but it was declined, raita was rotten so we asked for plain dahi and it was declined too, even lemon was declined when we asked for Salads. Moreover, there was some stag party going on and the lot came for food in some time and few drunks stared at my wife, the hotel fellow saw but he was chit chatting and smirking with them as if we didn't notice. I was on honeymoon trip and felt very embarrassed in front of my wife. She felt so insecure that she never got up from table for food and I went to take food and served her and all this while the hotel fellow was still counting chicken pieces and bowls of daal in our plate. This place doesn't even deserves 1 star, I wish I could have made a written complain against their behavior. Extremely disappointing and alarming experience at Moti Mahal Restaurant. The food quality was subpar, but what was even more shocking was the poor hygiene and cleanliness.

We found insects INSIDE the dahi, which is unacceptable and a serious health concern. To make matters worse, we also spotted a lizard near the chicken soup. The outdoor location, which was poorly lit and dark, only added to our concerns.

Needless to say, we did not enjoy our meal and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We even requested our tour organizer to change the dinner location for the rest of our trip.

Staff were totally dis-interested in engaging with customer or to get us seated. The place was almost empty.

The food is average. The tikki and kofta tasted almost the same. NO south/north Indian Thali availability. Veg and non veg options available. Good veg options. Prices are ok. But higher based on the vibe of the place. No music or instrumental or anything. Just a quite place and cutlery noise.

The local thai waitresses were helpful and enthusiastic to serve but bot well trained.
