Terrazzo Ristorante & Bar — Restaurant in Patong

Last night we discovered the Terrazzo Ristorante while walking along Patong Beach. It looked inviting and since we were hungry, we went in. Thank goodness we did! We shared a 13-inch pizza with a variety of toppings, as well as the Italian sausage platter. Both were delicious and filling! I say this as one who is very particular about Italian food, and this was the 'real deal'. Additionally, the staff were ever so polite and helpful and cheerful, and the experience was enhanced by the fact that I was able to communicate in basic Thai with them, which seemed to make them happy. The atmosphere was very much to our liking, being large and spacious, with plenty of space between each table, and tastefully decorated. I must add that the prices were surprisingly reasonable, given both the quality and quantity of the fare. It took a few minutes to get the menu and when we got it there were no drink menu. Me and my girlfriend ordered pizza and pasta carbonara, the pasta was so-so and looked like it was reheated (but I have no proof of that). My girlfriend’s pizza was terrible, reminded of bad microwave pizza, the mushrooms on the pizza had the texture of a soft raw carrot. My girlfriend only ate one slice and I took a bite of one slice but it was terrible so I finished my pasta and we asked for the bill. Penne pasta was really good! Carbonara was good too. Really creamy without the watery cream sauce. Pizza with sausage was whatever. Calamari was decent, not chewy but the sweet and spicy sauce was not my favorite. I’d rather have marinara with my calamari. Their mango and sticky rice was by far the best I’ve had so far. It’s because of the mango was perfectly ripe and not fibrous. It was like melt in your mouth buttery texture. It also came with coconut ice cream with cookie crumbles!
