There are tonnes of restaurants to choose from in Jungceylon Mall. We choose Yayoi because of the aesthetic presentation of Japanese dishes which looked very appetizing.
The food was fabulous. What you will love is the presentation and that is eventually going to make you order different dishes!
What I didn't like much is the service, we weren't quite aware of the ingredients or whether the dish contained cooked meat or not and what are the different varieties available for customisation. We weren't able to get a clear idea just through the pictures and the waitress wasn't supportive enough leaving us confused as to what we should order and what we should we not.
My friends wanted to order ramen (well who wouldn't in a Japanese restaurant) but they were out of noodles and that literally cut off so many options to choose from because of which two of my friends couldn't decide what to order
The atmosphere was good, not at all busy and quiet. Nothing much specific to say about the atmosphere, just your typical quiet ambience.
The appetizing food and the bright colorful dishes will pull you to this restaurant, but I hope you get ramen...
Read moreI rarely do reviews, and only if I feel the place is good or bad. This place is BAD. You will pay a bit too much for something which is very tasteless and also might make you SICK, which it has in my case.
I've been in Thailand for two weeks without getting sick once eating thai food but eating here has made me throw up half my inside and give me such a bad diarrhea you dont even want a description of it and last but not least a high fever. So yes I'm writing this from my bed in Thailand, fever struck and probably won't be able to eat for days.
I got a bad feeling when stepping inside the place with waitresses not smiling which seems uncommon here in Thailand. Food took forever to be served and finally when getting it it tasted very bland.
I had some porklets, rice, curry and miso soup together with some green tea. I ate there yesterday on the 9th of January 2020. The only thing I had that day besides a...
Read moreA nice family friendly venue that was reasonably priced. If (like us) you love Thai food, but want a change, then this place is the perfect choice. I was not expecting much but this was a surprisingly good Japanese meal. We ordered:
Katsutoji: A pork katsu on a bed of scrambled egg and tofu. This was very very good and similar to a Katsudon, but with the rice on the side (as opposed to underneath). Slightly sweet and savoury, the egg makes for light accompaniment to the deep fried pork. Beef Sukiyaki: Quite Delicious! Sweet, beefy sauce with vegetables. Zaru Soba: We love cold soba as it is so light and refreshing. Lab Flavoured Karaage: Note: This should be spelt "Larb" and it is a take on the Thai Larb salad (ground meat with a sour spicy flavour). I quite liked it however unfortunately it was a bit too spicy for my 12 year old.
Overall, a surprisingly good meal. I would...
