Jasmin's Café — Restaurant in Pattaya City

I popped into Jasmin’s cafe , Sunday evening about 9-30 ish for a late dinner. It was quiet only two Customers in and they were finishing off. I was seated and my order was taken , another waitress Came over and asked if I had ordered I said yes, she returned to say they didn’t have my order. I went up to the counter and saw original waitress she said it’s fine, other waitress didn’t understand . By now I’ve been in jasmine’s 10 minutes plus. Another three customers arrived and were seated near me . Their orders were taken , I’ve still not had my drink yet . Now it’s twenty minutes ,customers near me who arrive after me , have had drinks and starters . I’ve still not had anything . I mentioned to my original waitress who took order, she said she had been in the toilet. Now customers near me are on their main courses , I’ve still been served nothing , no one else in there . I complained to waitress ..about other customers arriving after myself and getting served . Didn’t seem to make any difference, my drink eventually arrived , still no food over 35 mins waiting I finished my drink and cancelled my main order and left , this not the first time I’ve been in Jasmin’s and usually the service is fine, more luck I think . I recommended a friend here for breakfast, he experienced similar service on their weird seating arrangements, and was told to leave if he didn’t like it. The food is not bad not exceptional but ok. Judging by reviews on here it’s the service that is the problem , I have spoken to jasmin her self and she seems an affable proprietor. She was not there this time. Probably the poorest service I’ve experienced in a long time anywhere not just Thailand . Best place in Pattaya the Robin Hood for service and food . I used Jasmine’s because it was close to where I was staying …I will not set foot in there...

What a disappointment not because of the food but because of the server's attitude The food was very good and flavourful. I feel bad for our server because either she is racist or just an angry mean person , I went to the restaurant with my mom who is 73 year old and wife and we requested either lower sitting or inside she started our very rudely and said we are a very busy restaurant every body wants inside sorry we can't and pointed to a high table more bar like and I was about to leave mom said it's ok she said I will try and sit and somehow managed to sit. We ordered a starter and couple of main courses and again she says we sre busy pls be prepared dishes will take time it was not what she said how she said it finally I lost it and asked her politely do you want us to leave and not dine here let us know at that point she changed and said no I want to let you know ....I know it was her bias as no plates were setup on our tables till dishes arrived when I asked she got it and got it with fork and knives no chopsticks she assumed an Indian looking guy won't need it that shows her bias she doesn't know by god's grace I have travelled to over 40-50 countries and have food from Michelin star to street food I politely asked for chop sticks which she got finally as a table we were so put off that we started to talk to the other server who was not attending our table and she was friendly and had a smile ....food is good but if you look like Indian they or she in particular will treat you like dirt . WOULD NOT RECOMEND WOULD NOT GO BACK Stopped by March 2019, service was non existent had to wait a very long time for food the restaurant was about half full. Thai dishes were hit or miss, be warned they give you very little protein in dishes. We ordered Pad Thai (3 small shrimp) very disappointing, you can get better from street vendors at a 1/3 of the price. Green Curry fried rice (2 small shrimp 2 little pieces of squid...very sad site) this dish was mostly rice which we could not eat because it was too spicy and firgot to mention on menu. Green curry with seafood was ok and they actually gave 4 shrimp and 2 pieces of squid. The best was the stir fried Morning Glory vegetables garlic thai chili sauce is subtle with big chucks of garlic, most of it collects in the bottom of the bowl so if you like it mix it up every once in awhile. If you dont just pick off the top and don't disturb the delicious sauce. We passed on dessert because of the poor experience and wasn't batting very well on what we did order, figured we cut our losses and go somewhere else. ALL IN including 3 Coconuts about 1900 TB. (had to ask them to make opening larger so you could get a spoon in there to get the coconut meat).
