Tha Arun — Restaurant in Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang Subdistrict

This restaurant just gave us a nightmare. We are not impress with the service at all, they are unprofessional in so many ways. Not recommend to anyone

No comment on the food since we did not even get our ‘reserved table’.

We made a reservation about a month prior to our visit. A day before the reservation date, I have contacted a restaurant to made another request for the inside-table, in case that it was raining which the staff has confirmed and acknowledged to this request.

30 min before our reservation time, i got the phone call from the staff saying that it’s rain quite heavy at the restaurant so they asked us if it’s possible to postpone the time to 6pm instead of 5:30 as the inside table they reserved for us would be ready at that time. we were totally ok about it and confirmed to them that 6pm is fine.

When we arrived at the restaurant, it’s still raining, so we thought that we might sit in our inside table (which they confirmed that it would be available at 6pm). But the inside table is full and they walked us to the outside zone where the tables and chairs were wet. Nothing is set or ready. Moreover the rain was pouring like crazy so we asked the staff how can we sit here?, the answer was that it’s totally ok, we’re not gonna get wet. ???

It took them about 10 min to set our table. After they done with all their setting which the tables and chair were still wet, they just went back inside and left us there. We were so confused.

It rained heavily, there were no place from us to hide from the rain from that outside zone, but all staffs just stand there without any assistance for us.

Then one of the staffs came out, i thought that he was gonna invite us back to the inside-table but what he do was, he put down the menu at the table, like let order a food but your table is not even ready.

I asked them where was the inside table they said they reserved for us, but they said that we have to wait til one of the customer finished, so surprise there was no inside table for us~

We have to ask them to move inside by ourselves and we stood there in the restaurant. They did said to us that they will ask the nearby hotel if we could sit at the lobby until the table is ready (but we did make a reservation before). In the end, we decided to leave the restaurant. We visited this Thai restaurant on a Sunday afternoon and had a table reserved in advance. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and we were seated quickly. One of the highlights of the experience was definitely the stunning view — the restaurant overlooks Wat Arun, and it’s a truly beautiful sight, especially during the day.

We were a group of four and ordered four different dishes to share. The food was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. The flavors were mild and could have used more seasoning. It felt like the dishes were toned down for foreign visitors — definitely not the bold, spicy Thai cuisine we were hoping for.

The atmosphere was pleasant, and the setting is quite nice, but considering the quality of the food, the price felt steep. We paid 2,700 baht for four people, which seemed high for what we received.

Very disappointed and frustrated with the staff at this restaurant. The staff who took my reservation lied his way out of convenience and we were left with no table.

I called a few days earlier to reserve a table facing the river so we could watch the sunset and was happy to find that there was a table available, after having no luck with a few other restaurants in this area.

Upon arriving yesterday, I was told my name wasn't in the system and all the riverside tables were already fully booked since last week. As I didn't think twice and ask for any confirmation ID or name of the staff when calling, there was no way to prove my words except I knowing that there's two seatings for this restaurant, first one from 5pm to 7.45pm and second one from 8pm.

Such a disappointment so make sure you ask for a confirmation or something when calling in to reserve. We left feeling like liars based on the staffs replies. Absolutely will not recommend this place, shifty staff who have no respect for...
