Joushitsu Sushi has became one of my top choices for an authentic and high-quality Japanese sushi hideout in Bangkok. From the moment you step inside, you are met with warm hospitality and cozy, attentive service that makes you feel right at home.
The restaurant's decor employs traditional Japanese architecture reminiscent of the 2000s, creating a clean, intimate, and inviting atmosphere. It’s the perfect setting for a comfortable, yet memorable meal.
The menu is a testament to freshness. What truly sets Joushitsu apart is the expert preparation; each piece of fish is cut to the proper size, a crucial detail that allows the pure, fresh flavor of the seafood to shine. This is especially evident in their tuna cuts—the Otoro, in particular, is an absolutely sublime, melt-in-your-mouth experience.
The experience is complemented by a well-stocked sake menu, offering excellent pairings for your meal. For those driving, the convenient parking is a significant plus.
A noteworthy point is that even when taking advantage of the various credit card and restaurant promotions available, the quality remains consistently high. There's no compromise on the ingredients or preparation.

Read moreAvoid this Japanese restaurant …… unless you want to eat not fresh fish and in general bad Japanese food that’s overpriced.
Spend your hard earned money in another Japanese restaurant. The sea urchin (uni) smelled and tasted horrible - signs of not fresh uni. I haven’t tasted uni that bad for a long time. The shrimp and scallop also clearly had freshness issues. The sizes of the chirashi are big but what does it matter when the ingredients are poor. Lastly the way they calculate service charge is a blatant scam!!! They take the original price and multiply with service charge 10% to get the most money out of you before applying the discount on their promotion. See picture for how it was calculated. No where in thailand or in the world is it calculated like this.

Read moreFreshness : ok. Technique : not so much. I expect a traditional, classic japanese sushi experience with that price. But I find no balance of the rice and the fish, I feel no air the the rice, and the rice itself is also too hard and lack smooth vingard flavor. I assume they will serve one sushi by another, but no. They make all of them and serve at one time. Fish slice is too big, making the rice not enough in amount. The condition of most fish is just ok, not the most fresh. After eating four or five, they all taste the same. But three thing worth my recommendation: tea, bean soy, and sashimi. My conclusion: good sushi, not great enough...
