Ekamai Beer House — Restaurant in Phra Khanong Nuea Subdistrict

Great pub with decent food. They have good beer on tap and bottles, about 10mins walk up from Ekkamai BTS. They have TVs all around with live sports on, however I had to take a cab to another pub to see F1 one day as they prioritize other sports over it. Luckily I made the start, but it was bit of a let down as they said they show it when I rang them up. So if you want to see the F1 race, this is not the place. They have English football though, and it’s a nice place to relax with friends in Soi Ekkamai. The service is really inconsistent though, sometimes they are cheery and friendly and today the waitress didn’t even look at me when she served my beer, I said thank you but no response…nice. Service charge was 100%, not 10%. Three Asahis and one Singha was 960 thb. This is a fraud as this was not the menu price. Bartenders are running scams or owner looks the other way. I paid the bill to get away from the criminals and will never return. Fire the bartenders working Saturday night at the bottom floor bar or this will happen over and over to farang. Will rip you off with "Service Charge" basic beers are 500 baht tourist price if bartender thinks you will pay fee or someone in your group parks a nice car. Having been visiting here for years, I have to say my visit tonight wasn’t great or memorable. The staff didn’t seem switched on, the beer was so so and the vibe of yesteryear has seriously disappeared. Given the amazing food and vibe of even upto 2019, the visit tonight would make me not want to come back. Has it changed owners? I don’t know, but I do know it’s not got the atmosphere it once did and it was this, that made this place.
