Ba Hao is one of the most popular and longest-running dining venues in the Nana district (the Yaowarat adjacent area, not the Sukhumvit one), and we have been fans for over 10 years now.
It is a go-to spot whenever we have visitors. Like us, they fall in love with the intimate, sexy, old Shanghai speakeasy vibe of the interiors and the overall building, a renovated shophouse. Any place bathed in red light is going to make an impression and stir the heart.
The cocktails are also original and beautifully made and presented. Best of all, however, in our eyes is the food – small plates of Chinese food classics that, like the drinks, are beautifully prepared and presented. They are also delicious, and we always wonder how they can produce such consistently good food from a relatively small kitchen.
Recommended plates include eggplant and miso garlic sauce, beef dumplings, scallion pancakes, soft tofu, and duck wontons, our favorite.
Special mention to the staff too, they are friendly, courteous, ever-smiling, and a delight. Love the music too – who wouldn’t love sipping cocktails and eating duck wontons with Chic blasting in the background?

Read moreTotally in love with this place, such a gem in Soi Nana. A small cozy, quirky place serving cocktails as well as Chinese inspires dishes. Tried out several dishes. Sali Salsa, crispy tofu skin served with a refreshing salsa. Crispy Patongko with Garlic & Chili, which was awesome. Prawn Paste Spring Roll, again superbly made. Duck Wonton is totally good, with chili oil but not too spicy. Shitake Tan Tan Mian, was also yummy. For dessert, gotta try out their Coriander Ice Cream served on a bed of salty sweet peanut & crepe. And don’t forget to get Ba Hao Tian Mi limited pudding. This month is Banofffee Pudding, a soymilk pudding served with cream, caramel sauce, cookie crumble & caramelised banana. All i can say is you gotta give it a go. Everything is so goooood. And don’t forget to...
Read moreHave walked pass here many times..always packed with customers. You can find yummy traditional Chinese street food and cuisine here. I didn’t expect much. Just want to hang out with friends here and celebrate friend’s birthday. However, it ended up well beyond my expectation. The staff were nice, well-trained and friendly except they might be a bit confused when serving the food to the customers haha. There was live music some day. Lucky ya we had a chance to enjoy it last night. Additionally, there’s birthday complimentary drinks and desserts..this is very kind. The drink we got served were very special and you couldn’t find it on the menu, so I recommended anyone want to celebrate birthday and have Chinese meal with good vibes and well decorated design that you might...
