I had my nails done here and today, and during the appointment, I noticed something unusual. With the help of Google Translate, I asked the nail technician directly — and she eventually admitted that she has a nail fungus, and has had it for a long time. This was not disclosed to me beforehand, and I only found out because I pressed for answers.
I was shocked. There is a serious risk of fungal transmission in this kind of setting, especially when proper hygiene protocols aren’t clearly followed and she didn’t wear gloves.
After confronting the salon, the manager told me to go to the pharmacy. I now have to take four antifungal pills a day for seven days — all because of an appointment that should have been safe.
This experience has been upsetting and completely avoidable. Hygiene and transparency should be top priorities in any salon. At least, I didn’t have to pay for the service but I think that’s the last. I’d rather have paid for beautiful nails without the risk of infection…
Apart from that, I wanted a gel fill in and they didn’t fill it in they just removed the gel and painted over it with two layers.. so...
Read moreI had a mixed experience here. The service was good but the pricing is a gotcha moment. I had a manicure done here. There was a short what which was good because I was able to go around the corner and enjoy a spa treatment. When the prices were explained it wasn't clear that a manicure is one price and polish (regardless of basic or gel) is an ADDITIONAL price. I was expecting one cost and found that it had doubled when I got to the register. I had to pay for manicure separate from polish. So just be aware. I had to pay for a manicure plus gel which cost more than what I pay in the US when put both prices together. The polish I received was good but I definitely would not have received services there had I known that there were two separate costs and they don't tell you till after your service and you have to pay. There is also an additional 4.5% cost if you use a credit card which they note on the outside window and off...
Read moreI found the lady that did my nails quite rude. I had to get a nail extension on one of my nails as it broke. During the appointment it was filed and I said it was ok. I checked again before she applied any varnish or colour and said "do you think it is still quite long? can you maybe file it more please?" she became rude and said "i asked you earlier and you said it was fine" while sighing at my request. (I was the only one in the salon so they weren't ran off their feet.) I said that it was difficult for me to tell from my angle. (it's her job to match the length to the rest of the nails). I found the rest of the appointment quite uncomfortable after that.. I also still had to go home file the edge of the nail extension as it was quite square and didn't match the rounded shape of the other nails but I didn't feel I could say anything to her after that. I'd usually leave a tip but didn't feel the want...
