THURTY — Restaurant in Pom Prap Subdistrict

There is a reason why this place has so many 5 star reviews. On a street full of (literally) hidden gems this is by far the best of the 8 or so amazing cocktail bars on Pom Prap. The decor is unmatched, it is like being transported to a speakeasy in Manhatten. The owner, Ploy, was one of the most friendly people we met in all of Thailand (which is saying a lot) and our bartender, Sai, was excellent - he had a great knowledge of cocktails and spirits and made us the best old fashioned we'd tried anywhere in the world. The vibe of the place is cool, friendly and relaxed - like the owner said she had tried to react the atmosphere of having drinks with your friends in your living room which I think she had accomplished to a T. Chanced upon this unassuming speakeasy, and at first glance, some of the cocktail ingredients definitely caught me off guard — so I played it safe with my first drink. But the bartenders, Kook and Sai, really showed how even the most unexpected ingredients can come together perfectly. The cocktails were complex yet totally palatable, surprising, intriguing, and so well-balanced that we couldn’t stop at one. We ended up on a mission to try as many drinks on the menu as possible. I had an exceptional experience at Thurty Bar. The drinks carry a delicate yet complex flavour, showing true craftsmanship in every sip. The bartender is incredibly friendly and takes the time to explain each drink in detail, clearly demonstrating deep knowledge of mixology, refined techniques, and the use of high quality ingredients. The staff overall are very attentive and genuinely take great care of their guests.

I also love the creativity behind the drink menu, which is built around the concept of the five stages of love. Very thoughtful, unique, and beautiful execution.

The atmosphere is cosy, clean, and well-organised, with tables arranged comfortably and the space feeling both intimate and inviting.
