Father & Son’s Smash Burger Shack — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

My second visit to Father & Son, and my first visit to their new burger shack in Khao Takiab. And this really is a shack. Literally appears to be a shipping container turned into a small restaurant. I ordered the same thing that I tried at their Hin Lek Fai location: a double Oklahoma smash burger and an order of onion rings. I asked for none of their proprietary sauce, as I did not care for it on my last visit. I got mustard and mayo on the side. The taste of the burger patty and the onions is very good. Maybe a bit more seasoning. Much better without the sauce. Like I thought on my last visit, the potato bun that they use is not sturdy enough for this burger. It begins to fall apart and turn mushy and gummy halfway through the meal. They need to try brioche buns or something not so soft. The onion rings are great. The seasoning in the breading is very tasty and it is light and fluffy and crunchy. They do get heavy after a few though, and I haven’t been able to finish both orders...

Their second branch in Hua Hin. We went to both places. The food is more or less the same at both places.

The branch in Nong Kae is smaller than the one in Hin Lek Fai. To be honest the inside seating area is a little bit disgusting. After your meal you smell like a burger because the place is that small and not well ventilated. But they offer outside seating as well.

When it comes to their burgers we would rate them as good and more on the upper end. They can compete with other smash burger brands. The big BUT are the prices. They are really on the upper end. When it comes to the competitors in Hua Hin but not only limited to them.

There are some other burger places in Hua Hin offering similar quality for more reasonable prices. If you would like to give Father & Son´s a try we would recommend to visit their branch in Hin Lek Fai. This one is more nice and you will not smell like a burger...

I ate here for the first time today (I haven’t had a hamburger since I left America 8 years ago). After a slight mistake on my DIY burger (they were more than willing to correct their mistake) I took off the onions I had not ordered and the burger was exceptional. The staff, the cook and the entire Restaurant is outstanding. It is clean, the food delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. As an added bonus when I went to pay, they comped me the burger because It had onions (which I had not ordered) on it. I wanted to pay (as I thoroughly enjoyed my meal - I especially liked the shoe string fries) - but they insisted on giving me the burger for free. I will most definitely come back to this great restaurant and try other things on their menu. I highly recommend Fathers and Son’s Smash...
