Le Bar Hua Hin — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

The bar seems popular with locals and is a pleasant place to sit. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine sitting outside whilst the sun went down, with homemade tapenade and crackers as a free snack.

There have been a number of changes to the wine list since it was printed; everything I picked from the less-expensive end of the list had been replaced. The staff suggested picking from the shelves, however none of those wines had marked prices. A question about the qualities of one wine was met with the advice to read the (maker's) notes in the list and I got the impression that the staff weren't used to discussing wine except in broad terms and weren't familiar with the list.

However they were very helpful and poured samples of several wines to try.

I resorted to Google and settled on a New Zealand pinot noir for around Baht 1,000 which was a good balance of quality versus price.

Possibly because of high import duties some comparably-priced wines were less well-rated.

Their wine list is extensive and has some high-quality wines at corresponding prices, as well as a selection of bottles around Baht 1,000 where I was looking.
