House of Croissants is REALLY GOOD! Honestly way better than I was expecting, and some of the best croissants I have had in quite a long time! You can’t miss this place - it’s got huge H.O.C. letters across the front of the building, and when you walk inside you’re met with a nice, bright interior that’s extremely clean as well. Employees are really nice and even joke around with you…something I don’t find often in Thailand, but a welcome change!
We originally ordered just a couple food items, but then ended up ordering a lot more because everything was so good. We got: Thai tea cream croissant, banoffee cream croissant, cheese sausage roll (warmed up), mini sausage croissant, as well as two drinks: apple soda and a honey lime iced coffee! We even got one of their croissant bite packages - imagine a crunchier croissant with either garlic or cheese or sour cream or caramel seasoning…basically like a croissant version of a cracker, and it’s something that you can just have as a snack!
The croissants were AMAZING, and the Thai tea one was out of this world. The cream tasted exactly like what a good Thai tea should taste like, and it was completely filled with it! The banoffee one was extremely good as well, and the cheese sausage roll was exceptional. The only one that was a little more boring was the regular mini sausage croissant, but that could just be because we had just eaten the cheese one beforehand, and cheese makes everything better…
All in all, great food and drinks, and we will definitely be returning again! Try the Thai tea croissant if they have it! And get there earlier in the day when more options...
Read moreFull disclosure I only had a cappuccino and not a croissant and they did look amazing.
However truth is needed here in the reviews that HOC wasn't a great experience other than the design/fitout & agree with an earlier comment as a tourist trap. Firstly there's limited seating for such a huge space and not that busy. Secondly, it's self service both paying & collection. Meaning you hear constant buzzer alarms the entire time and not conducive to morning coffee ambience. Actually no ambience in general. Change them to flash only setting. Lastly, my cappuccino with almond milk was 170BHT. That's both outrageous not just for coffee but being self service paying at the counter & collection. It's more than the Intercon that's a 5* hotel and possibly the best coffee in Hua Hun. Lastly I found the enticing tipping box amusing given it's size (both box & font) given this self service service - even with numerous staff on. Worth noting nothing negative towards the staff - they were friendly - this is...
Read moreCan only give 1 star on this review given my wife & I walked out before being able to try anything here. On arriving here for a bite of lunch we immediately observed at least 5 staff behind the counter. Although we were greeted we sat down at a table awaiting some service & of course a menu. After 7 minutes without any service we got up & walked out. What we did observe though was all 5 staff members were busy, not with customers but each of them on their mobile phones. That is not a good look by any standards & if I managed this place all would be sacked. To not acknowledge our presence in the Cafe nor offer a menu & any semblance of customer service is quite ordinary & has lost your business new customers. Your staff need a complete retraining on what customer service is. Very...
