Onibus Coffee BKK is a hidden gem for coffee lovers in Bangkok. Originally from Japan, this cafƩ brings its minimalist yet cozy vibes to the city, creating a perfect balance between simplicity and comfort.
The coffee is truly the star here. They specialize in single-origin beans, and you can choose from options like espresso, pour-over, or even cold brew. Each cup is crafted with care, offering a smooth, aromatic, and flavorful experience. If youāre not sure what to order, the staff is very knowledgeable and happy to recommend something that matches your preferences.
The location is tucked away in Soi Pridi Banomyong 25. Itās not on the main road, so it feels like an escape from Bangkokās hustle and bustle. The seating is limited but thoughtfully designed, with both indoor and outdoor spaces. Itās a great spot to enjoy a quiet moment with your coffee or catch up on work or reading.
Tips for visitors: ⢠The menu leans toward specialty coffee, so it might not have the sweet or milky options that some people prefer. However, itās a great chance to explore authentic coffee flavors. ⢠Parking is limited, so public transportation or a quick Grab ride is recommended. ⢠Their pastries are worth trying, especially if you enjoy a light snack with your coffee.
Overall, Onibus Coffee BKK offers a unique coffee experience with a peaceful atmosphere. If youāre a fan of quality coffee and minimalist design, itās definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSimplistic small coffee coffee shop situated right next to a hostel. Decor is clean and simple. Appreciate the large windows that bring in sunlight. Felt cool despite the large windows. You order your drink and then find a spot to sit.
Onibus Coffee is a Japanese roaster in Japan so we were looking forward to their coffee. We are into coffee so we had our expectations.
Ordered a oat milk latte and Ethiopia drip. Drip was great but the oat milk latte was rather bland. The cashier asked if we wanted double shot and we forgot that Japanese cafes tend to be on the blander side. So we didnāt get a double shot and regretted it. Or else it would have been much better. So get double shot!!
I guess the baristas do not do latte art with oat milk. I understand itās a lot more challenging so our drink looked more like a flat white.
I think they outsource their cakes which were decent. The shop is rather small so itās not the most comfortable place to sit. Turn over was quick. Even on a weekend morning we did not wait long for a table. I wouldnāt recommend working here on a weekend even though there are electric plug outlets.
We purchased a bag of espresso beans and it was good. Service was good as they took the time to explain their beans. The overall experience was good. However, the coffee shop is kind of out of no where. I would only come back if I was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām a huge fan of pour-over and can be very picky about where I get my coffee. Upon arrival to Bangkok at the Once Again Hostel, I was pleasantly surprised that ONIBUS is connected to the lobby.
The baristas are extremely knowledgeable about what and how they serve coffee. Often times youāll see a taste testing at the side bar while coffee is being made and served. Each coffee has a unique flavor profile and the baristas are happy to talk about it!
Letās not forget about the espresso- they serve a mean single shot with an americano or latte as alternate options. Obviously you can get a double and any milk you need based on dietary or flavor preference.
I spent most of my mornings having a nice cup of hot pour-over while enjoying the street view. If Iām in Bangkok again, youāll find me here. Badidea and the rest of the crew...
