I am a sucker for La Cabra, I have been to their shops in different locations such as Aarhus and New York, and their retail partner in Seoul Travertine, therefore, when I was going on a vacation in Bangkok I was very excited to visit this location. However, sadly, my expectation turned to huge disappointment. The interior was very typical scandinavian: a good mix of metal and wood obviously from all well-known nordic design brands, undeniably aesthetically pleasing. But when me and my husband entered we did not feel welcomed, no staff said hi eye-to-eye although there were 3 people at the counter and a few in the baking room. It was not that there were so many customers beside us either, 3 women and us, so in total 5 in the shop. We ordered 2 cups of filter coffee and pain au swiss and cardamum bun, almost 40 euro as much as you would pay at their shops in New York or Denmark, so not your average specialty coffee shop since it's La Cabra. The coffee brewing took a while but it did taste good, I think they really nailed the handdrip, the temperature was good, and extraction gave the tasting notes as promised on the menu. The baked goods were also the usual top-notch La Cabra quality. The major thing disappointed us was their lack of efforts to interact with the customers; they just brought the coffee and put on the table without saying anything despite I said Khob Khun Ka to be appreciative for the local culture. No one asked how our coffee was until we left the shop. No one showed any glimpse of smile. How sad to see our favourite coffee brand not maintain their high-quality service. When we were leaving, a guy with glasses and beard said thank you with a indifferent look. It was nothing but paintful for us to have this bitter experience since we have also ordered our beans for brewing coffee for years not only visiting their physical stores and particularly have had fantastic experience at Aarhus every year when we were there. As you check out the lowest rated reviews it seems to have recurred many times, I genuinely wonder how the La Cabra's global sales/distribution team think about the whole situation. Definitely no intention to revisit to this location just out of affection to the brand and with hope for improvement I decided to write...

The star attractions of La Cabra Bakery are undoubtedly their almond croissants and sourdough bread. The almond croissants are a true revelation, boasting a perfect balance of flakiness and richness. Each bite yields a symphony of textures, from the delicate layers of buttery pastry to the sumptuous almond filling that oozes with every bite. It's no wonder they're a favorite among regulars and newcomers alike.
Equally impressive is the sourdough bread, which showcases the bakery's dedication to artisanal craftsmanship. The crust is beautifully crisp, giving way to a soft and chewy interior with just the right amount of tanginess. Whether enjoyed on its own with a smear of butter or as the foundation for a gourmet sandwich, each slice of sourdough is a testament to the bakery's commitment to quality and tradition.
Of course, no visit to La Cabra Bakery would be complete without a cup of their expertly brewed coffee. Sourced from the finest beans and meticulously prepared by skilled baristas, the coffee is the perfect companion to the bakery's delectable offerings. Whether you prefer a classic espresso or a velvety latte, each sip is sure to delight the senses and enhance your overall experience.

Read moreThis is my first time visiting one of the La Cabra establishments. Please come early in the morning as people can get in line for around 30 minutes.
Few seats available, not counting but I think it’s around 20-30 seats available. Don’t go alone, bring your friend to save your table. But if you have to go alone, sitting on the curbside is nice too. Immerse yourself in calm Nordic Industrial Minimalism interior and pay attention to the details.
As you can see in my photos alongside this review, we almost ordered everything 😂
What products do I like? Cardamom Bun: If you like fragrance on your food, then this is your choice. The bread was light and the exterior so crunchy, maybe this is why Danish people are so much about Cardamom Bun? Cardamom and the zesty flavour go well, nothing going on much to my palate, simple and pronounceable, which I like.
Safe choice and I think most people will like it: Mushroom and Cheese. Generous amount of mushroom, I think they make a bechamel sauce with cheese (CMIIW) flaky texture for the pastry.
Double chocolate. From the get go, this must be a crowd favourite. Can feel the cocoa on the texture, and the use not to bitter, my guess is 50 or 60% dark chocolate.
About the coffee, we try Riakiberu (hot manual brew) and Luis Edgar Pink Bourbon (Iced manual brew) you can tell this is really good coffee, fruity notes, but the exact notes can’t be pronounce really well, the Iced one is better. Overall, don’t think too much all food and drinks are still enjoyable, and would love to go back to try another...
