Northeast restaurant is a true Bangkok culinary treasure! This unassuming spot, tucked away opposite Lumpini Park and just a stone's throw from the Sofitel, consistently delivers an authentic and unforgettable taste of Northeastern Thai cuisine. Since discovering it in 2013, I've returned countless times for lunch and dinner, drawn back by the consistently superb food, clean and air-conditioned environment, and the welcoming atmosphere that attracts tourists and locals alike. The menu is thoughtfully presented in both English and Thai, complete with enticing photos, making it easy to navigate the delicious offerings.

The service at Northeast is outstanding, and the overall vibe is simply delightful. My recent dinner with a friend who now lives and works in Bangkok was a testament to the restaurant's enduring quality – simple, authentic, and utterly satisfying. While the food is undoubtedly the star, there's a minor detail that, if addressed, would elevate the dining experience even further: upgrading the flatware and dinnerware. The current low-quality utensils feel out of sync with the exceptional quality of the food and service. Investing in higher-quality dining ware would enhance the overall customer experience and solidify Northeast's position as a top-tier dining destination. Despite this minor quibble, Northeast remains a firm favorite and easily earns a well-deserved five-star rating. It should be considered a Michelin Bib...

One of the best restaurants in Bangkok. Good ambiance with air conditioning. Service was fast and the staff are very friendly. For starters go inside the restaurant to get a number and then wait outside and they will call the number. Lemon steam sea bass was very nicely done without overcooking the fish. Great sour spicy flavors. Stir fried morning glory was also great with good flavors and crunchiness in every bites. Fried chicken wings are also great. Pad kra pau was tad spicier than we would like but still good nonetheless. Rice is of good quality and serve hot which is great. Imho the food here is way way better than the overrated street side stall at yaowarat. Try this place out if you guys are in Bangkok near lumphini park. Traffic is crazy though even on a Monday and thus getting here early is recommended. Walking from sala daeng bts is also an option to consider.

17-09-2024 A big thank you to Nong who was serving us tonight. He was absolutely a marvelous guy who honestly told us not to order too much food worry that we could not finish them. He also gave good recommendations to avoid ordering foods that are too similar in taste. He was extra attentive when he notice one of our dishes were slow and took the initiative to check the order for us without us asking. Definitely a gem to find in bustling Bangkok for great food with great services. Highly...

Came here on Oct 5, 2023 for lunch at 11ish.

We ordered 3 menu: Tom Yam Gong (9.5/10) MUST TRY! very tasty & i like the strong sour taste! I like to mix it with steam rice! And even mix it with omellete oyster, so it is like tom yam oyster! Very delicious!

Omelette with Oyster (9/10) MUST TRY! it tastes like home cook oyster very fresh, no smell at all fried egg is crispy and tender at the same time! i dip this to tom yam, and it was super great!! but note that this dish a bit oily..

Deep Fried Chicken Wing the skin is very crispy consist of 6 pc of wings but the spice, for me, is not absorbed to the chicken meat.. so the taste of the chicken meat was a bit not to tasty.. but, to overcome this, you can dip it to the sauce given.

Watermelon smoothie very fresh & cold! size is big, can be used for sharing MUST TRY!

Price: Watermelon smoothie - 100 Omellete with oyster - 120 Tom Yum Gong - 200 Deep Fried Chicken Wing - 135 Total: 637 Baht

Place is good, and neat, and with cold AC! Very nice!

Some of The waiter can speak English, which is very helpful!

We went here on foot, so we have no problem with parking. But since this is really on the side of the road, there is no prking spot available. We saw some mini bus stop temporarily and drop people.

It is near Bus Stop Lumphini...

This is seemingly a popular place for tourists. I came around lunch time and the restaurant was filled with mostly Koreans. A long line quickly formed and I was fortunate to skip that so i suggest making a reservation especially for large group. My colleague and I ordered catfish salad, oyster omelette, fried morning glory and we had a pandan jelly drink each. All dishes were cooked to satisfaction and we have no complaints! Deep fried catfish were so crispy and tasty, the texture went so well with the salad that had the right citrusy taste. Oyster omelette - the sweet potato crisps were flavorful and it came with lots of oysters to go with. The crunch of the morning glory were just right and not too soggy. The pandan jelly drink is rather sweet but it reminds me of a childhood agar agar dessert we always had and it brought back pleasant memories. Overall recommended, and I will come back again to try their other dishes.

Phenomenally average food. We ordered three of the chefs recommended dishes, explained to the waitress that we love spicy food, she replied "phet" and we said "phet mak". What came was a sad assault of Thai food. The specials, soft shell crab, was tasteless and completely pointless. No flavour. No texture. Just some crabs with curry sauce with no spice or seasoning or any redeeming factor. The chicken basil leaf chilli was bland as hell. The chicken red curry spicy sauce had no spice at all so we asked for chilli. The morning glory was a 4/10. The deep fried pork was ok but nothing to write home about. The service was great. The food was utterly forgettable and half the dishes were better at 7/11 from a microwave at 2am. I kid you not. Waaaay overhyped.
