Had a few meals at this eatery (visited their outlet in Silom Complex next to Sala Daeng BTS) during my recent trip to Bangkok. They serve thai street food in a nice casual restaurant setting.
It would appear that they are well known to be a Thai “street food” and noodle specialist.
The price here is definitely more than what street food vendors charge but the dishes are done in authentic thai cooking style served by courteous wait staff in airconditioned cosy premises.
The weekday lunch crowd includes groups of nearby office workers as well as hospital staff working in the nearby hospitals as well as Thai Red Cross (in spite of the high price point) and afew tourists like myself.
My personal favourite includes the minced pork omelette (its soooo fluffy and very very crispy at the sides, simply excellent) spicy tom yam goong, stir fried spicy minced pork in thai basil (dry unlike others where the minced pork is "swimming" in gravy) and you can vary the degree of spiciness and the green curry (only have the chicken and beef).
Their desserts are also amazing especially the thai chendol (can actually sniff the fragrance of the chendol when they serve the dish, so amazing!)
Btw, this eatery is part of the IBerry group which also includes the more upmarket Kub Kao Kub Pla.
Give it a try, you will definitely not regret tasting "elevated" authentic thai...
Read moreLet me start by saying you will NOT get an authentic Thai street food taste (I am Thai). There are other chain restaurants in department stores that come closer to everyday tasting home cook or street Thai food. Instead, Ros’niyom has more of a higher-end, modernized, and slightly internationalized version of Thai food.
With that in mind, the restaurant offers great tasting food despite being on a slightly pricey side. My favorite is hands down the “Sun-dried Pork served with Sticky Rice (หมูแดดเดียว ข้าวเหนียวนุ่ม).” Seriously, you should try it at least once.
Apart from that, I found most of their food to be pretty good.
I would not order any of their noodles though. Foreigners may enjoy them, but I feel they taste too “westernized” to be actual Thai noodles so you ended up with somewhat overly sweet but not spicy enough Thai noodles.
As far as the atmosphere goes, this particular branch is spacious enough that you never feel cramped, and the decoration feel...
Read moreThis past week, I found myself drawn to Ros'niyom based on its bustling lunchtime crowd. Nestled conveniently within the mall, Silom Complex near my hotel, it offered a quick and casual option for a Thai food fix.
The menu boasts a focus on authentic dishes at reasonable prices. I opted for shrimp paste fried rice, tom yam noodle, som tam salad, and fresh longan juice and it delivered on its promise.
While the service was efficient. The ambience is similar to what you'd expect from any other mall eatery.
Overall, Ros'niyom is a solid choice for a satisfying and affordable Thai meal in a convenient location. I wouldn't hesitate to return on a...
