Contrary to what their sign shows in the photo on Google Maps, and contrary to what Google Maps says, they are not open on the weekends. Someone at the restaurant really ought to take charge of their listing on Google Maps and update it so people like me don't spend hundreds of baht to get over here to enjoy some fish and chips only to find it closed. I took a photo of the new sign. Apparently updating maps is too challenging a task for the owner. Or the owner doesn't care. Either way, not a good message to send to customers. Oh well.....

Now open 6 days a week. Mon-Sat Sam runs the place himself and he is a super friendly guy. I would recommend having a wine with him The menu has a variety of fish and the steaks are fresh. All these are served on a roof top garden. Go up the spiral staircase. And you will enjoy the evening. It is a beer garden atmosphere. Now new burger menu.

The fish 🐠 bandit and bonnie. We came we ate, we left. Hail from Scotland and should any of my brothers and sister visit Bangkok, you should definitely visit Sam at his establishment for good food and refreshments.

Sam's used to be our favourite to-go for steaks in 2014. However, a recent visit in 2019 changed our view.

Prices have surged ridiculously. With menu and restaurant marketed as Fish & Chips, they sell them separately! When they asked what kind of chips do you want? Ask them are they inclusive on the plate or you could end up paying extra!

Also, Sam really needs to clean up and replace his almost-broken chairs and tables. I hope Sam can make...

Sam's restaurant is an amazing place off the beaten track. You can find the dining area by following the spiral staircase up to the rooftop garden on top of the house he was born in! Dory fish (sorry Nemo) and chips were delicious as was the Thai vegetable dish we tried. Excellent service and hospitality. Thoroughly recommend and the perfect place to escape...
