My Air BnB apartment happens to be just opposite this quaint little corner family restaurant. Not your typical restaurant with proper frontage. There is No big signage except for a framed Trip Adviser print out that's partially obscured from sight. Place can be easily missed when you walk past it. In fact, you will have to walk past the kitchen before entering the restaurant. Decided to give it a try on my second night at Silom. Late dinner at around 9pm and the place was still buzzing with both locals and travellers. Then again, it's not a big place. Customers were sharing tables and chatting happily over food. Tables are functional. In fact, I discovered that they are repurposed from old sewing machines from the 70s & 80s....Singer brand! Food options are comprehensive and thankfully, the menu comes with English translations. Their house specials are annotated with stars and are quite easy to spot. Ordered the typical Thai staple food of salad, fried chicken, deep fried kale with century egg and the main dish of deep fried sea bass (barramundi), and fried mixed vegetables w fish sauce. We did not order the classic Thai green curry and tom yum as we've been having them the past few days... Food was flavourful and taste like authentic thai home cooked food. However, pricing is slightly touristy. So be prepared to pay fair prices for quality but do not expect restaurant standard waitering service. The busy staff will attend to you whenever you manage to catch their attention. Personally, I luv to be left alone with no one bothering me, in a place where nobody knows me or care about the way I go about enjoying my food...with fingers and noise... Ultimately, a good experience for authentic Thai home cooked food in an authentic setting that I'd would gladly pay for....Love it!

Four of us had dinner here tonight. The venue is small but staff was very quick of cleaning up tables so we waited for only 1 minutes. Here what we ordered and why I rated this place 5 stars: 1/ Green curry chicken: good but spicy. The chicken was tender and the green round eggplants were still crunchy. The curry was rich and spicy. The flavor was very different with the Thai curry we had in the U.S. it was a distinct authentic Thai flavor. This dish went well with steam rice. However, I wished they gave more chicken. :) 2/ Stir fried on choy with garlic: excellent dish with a unique flavor. The onchoy was crunchy with strong garlic aroma. This dish was also spicy. 3/ Deep fried sea bass with sweet and spicy sauce: excellent. The fish was cut up into small pieces, deboned then covered with batter and fried. The skin was a little crispy and chewy. The fish meat was firm, sweet and fresh. One sauce was sweet like molasses and the other was a fish sauce, garlic and chili. The sauces tasted better when mixing them two together. This dish was also came with a shredded green mango and dried shrimps in a sweet vineger dressing. The mango salad paired very well with the fish. It was delicious. 4/ Stir fried vemicelli with tofu for vegetarian: good but a little spicy. It had a little smoky flavor from the wok neither too salty nor bland. My vegetarian friend loved this dish. The staff was friendly, attentive and spoke good English. All 4 dishes plus 3 bowls of rice, 2 teas and a bottle of water for only $27 dollars. I highly recommend this restaurant for good foods and very reasonable price.

The servers are kinda friendly, and the food is really good. We had the Rice with Pork and Basil, the Green Curry with Chicken and Thai Tea. The rice dish was delish, but it was a bit savory to us. The green curry was also good, but if you are not good at eating spicy food, remember to ask them make it less spicy! Thai tea was not sweet at all and the tea was slightly strong. I thought the foam on top was cream or so, but it turned out to be something tasted like froth milk. Overall, 4.5/5 !!!!!! P/s: Wish the rice came with a fried egg on top...

I informed 3 staff ( service crew ) that the dish i ordered dont put chilli., they all confirmed, my order came after 30min & I was very hungry. The 1st spoon I ate was very spicy! I told the waiter that I said no chilli., he smiled and giggled and speaked in thai to he’s colleague., he’s colleague ( the cashier ) gave a lecture saying green curry chicken i orderd really has chilli., the coconut soup ( which i didnt even order) has no chilli. Obviously he was giving me an alibi. He was actually rude and I didnt even make a big deal. They could have informed me In the 1st place that the green curry does really have chilli and cannot make it NOT spicy, but they agreed and it ended up like it was my fault. I didn’t respond the rude cashier guy and just ate whatever was served for i was really starving. Over all experience was really poor service. Im not...
