[FEB 2025] Updated Review – Minus one more star

I've always liked this place, but the service was seriously messed up this time. We came on Sunday at 7 PM, and while all the hay-fired dishes arrived as expected, the raw fish orders were a disaster. 45 minutes passed before a single raw dish came—for my husband. My own orders (aka ebi sashimi and one raw oyster) weren’t even being made. I had to chase them twice, and when it got too late, I asked to cancel. Suddenly, they said they would make it right away. So what, if I don’t cancel, they won’t make it?

To make things worse, the bill took 20 minutes to arrive, even though they didn’t seem understaffed. I usually enjoy dining here, but the slow and disorganized service that night was beyond frustrating.

I saw this place was highly rated with tons of reviews and I now understand why. Their service reminds me that of Japan where they announce their greeting you as you enter and say goodbye as you leave. The waiters/waitresses are extremely attentive so you won't have any issues flagging them down. As for the food, the Salmon Sashimi is what people rave about and for good reason... they're priced based on market price so you know it's about to get super legit. Normally Lobsters and Oysters get priced like this so seeing Salmon priced similarly, made me super eager... The. Salmon. Is. Fantastic. I've had A LOT of salmon in my life including Salmon in Japan and this was hands down the best Salmon I've ever had. It has the right amount of bite and the ratio of intramuscular fat to meat was perfect. We ate the Wagyu Beef and this Salmon made me forget all about it... Overall, everything we ate here was amazing and the presentation and speed at which everything was served was perfect. I highly highly recommend this spot to anyone in the area, you will NOT regret it. 13/10 will be bringing others here if I'm ever in...

I would eat here every day if I lived in Bangkok. If Teppen Sathorn opens a location in NYC, I will be their first customer. I discovered this restaurant randomly following a craving and after Googling sushi in the area. This is a sushi house that puts all other sushi homes to bed. Not only is the service and attention five-star, but every single raw dish is essentially perfection. With just two days in the city before flying back to NYC, I had to come here for all my primary meals both days after discovering. There is no fresher fish in BKK - and it holds a candle to the best in NYC and Tokyo, too. Each piece of fish was perfectly portioned and of the highest quality. Beyond this, each dish was creatively presented and fairly priced. You cannot go wrong with any raw fish order in any variation - just make sure you grab a little uni on top!
