El Gaucho Fisherman's Village — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

The cuts of meats were very good. I thoroughly enjoyed the beef fillet, which I really enjoyed it on medium. My companion on the other hand also enjoyed his medium-rare entrecote. Having been here a couple of times, the consistent experience had again proven to be high quality all the way. Beyond the meats, I really enjoyed virtually other menus such as the spaghetti with prawns and the side dishes - very generously served and tasted superb. Will return absolutely on this consistent quality, and would happily recommend to anyone looking to enjoy quality steaks and frankly their entire menu selections - from food to drinks and wines.

Another quality aspect absolutely worthy of mention are the staff. They couldn't be more helpful, accommodating and attentive at all times with orders and recommendations. I appreciate also the restaurant's complimentary house-made limoncello (or whatever disgestifs they served if I remembered correctly). The warmth and service were nicely delivered...

The good and staff are absolutely fantastic. The food was tasty, and definitely tasted the fresh produce. The staff service was incredible. We took two starters, one main course and one salad ( the salad was pretty much the size of a main course. The manager/owner was very welcoming, and very nice also as we finished and left the restaurant. The ambiance was very pleasant and warm, precisely the kind of vibes you’d like to get in a restaurant of this sort. Very elegant decor. I must recommend the chef starter special - the rib eye “a la minute”. Sliced thin and evenly, done so brilliantly. It’s a must. My husband took the cheese burger because he was in a mood for one, and his reaction was that it was definitely one of the best and delicious burgers he’s ever had. WOW PRICE SHOCK

Imported steaks in Thailand understandably carry higher prices due to additional costs, but this restaurant may have priced itself out of the market with what maybe exorbitant charges for side dishes.

The costs of side dishes at this steak house rival even the most expensive restaurants in Paris or London. For instance, an asparagus side is priced at 690 THB plus 7% tax and 10% forced service, totaling €22.

Similar high prices extend to other sides like spinach (€12), mushrooms (€10), and blue cheese sauce (€6.50).

Despite its beach side location in Fishermen's Village, the restaurant remains generally empty, and my experience there sheds light on perhaps one of reasons why.
