The restaurant is quite bare bones, with plastic tables and chairs, fluorescent lights with quite a plain atmosphere with little ambience.

Service although enthusiastic is a little hit and miss, as things like glasses for the water get forgotten and the staff do go missing quite often. I do understand it is a small operation and likely consisting of all family members, so it is understandable, but is frustrating when trying to get their attention and no one is around.

Food wise, the uncommon isan food seems to be the standout. Pork neck was amazing with a funky sauce. The others are a little hit and miss. For example, papaya salad was unbalanced taste-wise and missing the dried shrimp and the cabbage, beans on the side. Larb was missing a lot of the roasted rice and sourness (salty being the predominant flavour) and the pork omelette was ultra dry and not the usual fluffiness.

One main complaint, but unfortunately understandable, was we came in just at the same time as a table of 5. Although we ordered just a few minutes after the other table, we waited 45 to 50 minutes for our first dish to come even though there were essentially only two tables in the restaurant. If they had warned. us, we would have left, but it left a bad taste in our mouth and made us unlikely to return. In saying that, here is a sign on the front mentioning that she is only one person and asking for...

When in Thailand - Always go for restaurants with Plastic chairs!

Patuy Thaifood & Seafood is an absolute gem in Koh Samui! Nestled in Fisherman’s Village, this cozy, family-run restaurant offers some of the most authentic Thai food I’ve had on the island. The flavors are incredible—every dish tastes homemade with love and tradition.

The stir-fried whole fish and coconut milk soup were standouts for me, packed with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced spices. The restaurant is run by a single, talented chef (affectionately known as “Grandma”), which makes the experience even more special. You might have to wait a little, but trust me, it’s worth it. While waiting, you can enjoy the simple yet warm atmosphere and even play some board games they provide.

If you’re looking for genuine, home-cooked Thai food away from the tourist traps, Patuy is the place to go. Just be sure to come early or bring some patience—it’s a one-woman kitchen, but the food is absolutely worth it! Can’t...

Unfortunately, we didn’t like the food much, there are a lot of better restaurants serving Thai food around. We were deceived by the “authentic “ atmosphere of the restaurant, which happens to be just in someone’s front yard. But we soon became disappointed by the food which was at maximum average for European standards in flavor, not to talk about here, were Thai food tastes even better. Moreover, the owner just cooks alone which results in taking a long time to get served when you come in a bigger group or order several dishes. But for that matter she has put a sign in the restaurant so you are warned about that. Also the fish cakes just looked like convenience food.

I can just recommend visiting...
