We had a date there. Food is unfortunately bad, i had satay udon noodles and they were so soggy, with disgusting texture. You couldn't taste chicken but only coriander seeds as a spicy, with prices for a bad food the place deserves one star for ambience Re: Update response Dear Jin,

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

However, I’d like to clarify a few points. First, it’s not accurate to claim that we didn’t express our dissatisfaction. We mentioned to the staff that the food wasn’t pleasant, and the fact that neither of us finished our Pho Bo or the Satay Udon speaks for itself. We were on a date and chose not to escalate things, especially given the uncomfortable situation that evening involving a loud argument between another customer and one of your French waiters. That didn’t create an atmosphere where we felt like starting a discussion.

Regarding the price: I marked it as "1000+ THB" for both of us, which is a standard category on Google Reviews. There’s a designated section where you clarify whether the price is per person or for the whole meal — and I indicated it accordingly. We paid 1890 THB, which falls into that category.

As for the food: we understand and respect creative fusion concepts, but food is subjective. The texture and flavor of the satay udon simply didn’t work for us — not everyone enjoys the same style. Disliking a dish doesn’t mean disrespecting the chef. It’s simply personal preference.

You wrote that if we had mentioned it, we wouldn’t have had to pay or could have received an alternative. Unfortunately, that was never communicated to us by the staff. That’s a pity, as it could’ve changed the entire impression of the evening.

I hope this clears up our perspective. We wish you the best and hope others enjoy your dishes more than we...

I was looking forward a lot to our visit, due to all the very good and positive reviews I had read beforehand. Sadly, my family and I left entirely underwhelmed of the experience.

The starter was p e r f e c t. Really nice, spicy tuna tartar on some crisply cooked rice.

The main course was supposed to be a special curry from the Thai/Myanmar region-- but in the end it was really just some plain noodles swimming a creamy sauce (small portion too), with a bone with a LITTLE bit of chicken flesh to it. Without the starter we would have starved 🙈 We have eaten x curries before, but never such a dull tagliatelle-like curry-ish dish.

The french fries of our kids were nice, as were the drinks (especially the SAIGON PASSION: delicious!) But the worst was in fact our son's mashed potatoes.

We ordered some plain mashed potatoes for him and when it came, I instantly saw all the black and brown spots in it. I thought it was maybe pepper or some herb? He was really hungry so he had already eaten about half of the portion when we got the chance to ask what that dark stuff in the mashed potatoes was. The waiter just point black said - "ah that's from the pan, it was a bit well cooked we were really busy today and this was the last rest of it!" What? In what world would you scratch together a stuck-to-the-pan rest of mashed potatoes, some burnt, and serve it to a customer, a little boy no less? That is just simply disgusting and unprofessional. We should have returned it on the spot there and then, but we were so baffled we only really realized it all when we walked home.

Needless to say we were very disappointed with our visit and will not be coming back or recommending it either for...

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Koh Samui! I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel for 8 days where I dinned at Mekong Fusion sometimes twice a day. I was so impressed with this Vietnamese/ Thai fusion restaurant that truly captivated my senses, thanks to its beautiful indoor outdoor ambiance. Lush greenery and an inviting loungey atmosphere created a tranquil and inviting space to dine and socialize. What sets this restaurant apart is not only its breathtaking setting and perfectly balanced flavors of the food, but also the warmth and friendliness of the owners. They greeted me with genuine smiles and made me feel like valued guest throughout each and every dining experience that I had here. Their passion for the cuisine was evident and every dish that graced my table. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors perfectly balanced and exquisitely presented. The staff definitely deserves a special mention the employees at Mekong Fusion were not only kind and attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu they guided me through the selection process offering insightful recommendations and answering questions with enthusiasm. This restaurant is a standout choice for any food lover and you will be treated like you are part of...

Ordered fresh spring rolls for 200 baht. Not my first time having Vietnamese spring rolls, so I expected them to be normal size and full of pork, shrimps and noodles. Instead I got 4 tiny finger rolls with 2 tiny shrimps, 1 very thin tiny piece of pork, almost not noticeable amount of noodles and a big green leaf, occupying most of the space. Am I in Thailand or not? Noodles, pork and shrimp are everywhere and not expensive. I could buy at least a kilo for that price. Had to go to another place and get a burger afterwards. Waiting for my food was also not a very pleasant experience, cause everyone was smoking there. The owners and the guests smoke all the time, nobody bothers asking if you're ok with that. I'm sure the place is great for meeting with friends and having drinks, especially if you're a smoker... Updated: No, Mr. Jean-Luc, I wasn't a part of any group. And I wasn't trying to offend anyone by my review. I am honestly describing the food, and that in my opinion, you could be more generous with the ingredients, considering that in this country they are not expensive. Maybe you're right that your restaurant is not for me. Try not to assume that you know who you're talking to next time. By the way, smoking in a restaurant is prohibited in many countries already.

It's a true Hidden gem! The restaurant nested within banana trees. The atmostphere, music choice, interior, the bar and pool next to each other just blend well,.. very beautiful place. The staff are professional and friendly. The fusion food is great, you definitely feel different with other kitchens you try on the island. They have mixed fusion of Thai, Vietnamese and Indian/Burmese. I'm a Vietnamese and tried fried springrolls and Bun Cha. They are definitely not the same as in Vietnam (the springrolls somewhat do) it's more like Vietnamese dishes in Thailand with touch from Thai cuisine. The portion is Western size I must say. Definitely a must try if you are in the area. [UPDATE] We came back the next day to see the restaurant better in the day. We had 2 noodle soups and they were perfect. The flavour blend well: chicken, vegetable, noodle but you still can taste each of them. That's so hard to have as many places just add too much additives and spice to taste every single ingredient. That's also how Vietnamese food is. If you try Vietnamese noodle soup there, don't be surprised why it has a light taste after trying so much curry in Southen Thailand.
