Top Ten BBQ — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Looking for a cheap night out we stopped at Top Ten BBQ Samui. They have 90 & 120 Bht Thai men’s as a special, so why not. And the 60 Bht Chang beers sealed the deal. Ordered the Green Curry Beef and Fried Noodle with Pork. Now, this is a Seafood BBQ restaurant that caters heavily to Chinese diners, so we weren’t expecting the best Thai best. But by crikey, did they deliver. The green curry was rich, spicy and tasty, and one in the nicer ones we’ve had on Samui. the noodles were fantastic, again, nice and spicy with lots of flavor. We both lived the meals, and shared them as always. The beer was cold and the toilets were some of the better obese we have come across. All in all, unexpected excellence. BUT. Then came the bill. The beers were the wrong price and we had to argue to get them reduced. Then, they added a mystery 10% service charge (not tax). This was not noted anywhere in the restaurant. So we argued to get that removed. So our great meal was ended with them trying to rip us off, twice. So, the takeaway from all this. If you want a great meal, and don’t care that you will get stooged on the bill, come here are enjoy, the food is lovely. If you dislike being ripped off (and that should be all of us), then go someplace else that treats you with honesty...

Have been visiting this restaurant before for a different kind of meal and didn't regret it, so decided to give their speciality a try: Special Mix BBQ ( 2 fillet steak, 2 pork steak, 2 chicken, 2 pork spare ribs, 2 mix kebab ) priced at 990 THB a try. Price seems high at first but actually its for two person but I was very hungry and curious if it would be possible to get some good meat in Koh Samui.

At ordering the requested cooking stage was asked by the staff without having to mention anything which was a nice surprise. Meal was excellent - cooking stage exact at the requested point ( medium rare ), nice quality of meat and really very delicious.

Summary: overall a nice meal, reasonably priced in a central location. Staff was very friendly and attentive at first - unfortunately it was very hard to catch somebody for the bill ... the owner should consider employing at least 2 more waitresses at peak times. 1 star reduction because of that.

Update ( 2019-01-23 ). Went there again and the service was horrible ... I had to change the tables to even get the menu even though I clearly stated I want to see it. Meal ( chicken breast ) was okay but the price ( 290 TBH ) was too high for it's...

A Disastrous Dining Experience

I stopped by this restaurant before visiting the Ark Bar, hoping for a decent meal, but it turned out to be a huge mistake. I ordered spaghetti with seafood, and what I got was undercooked pasta and seafood that tasted like it had just come out of the freezer and been reheated in a microwave.

The pizza wasn’t any better—bland, soggy, and clearly defrosted. To top it off, the service was a mess. When I pointed out a small hair on the bread that came with my pasta, the waiter promised to replace it but never came back with anything.

Honestly, the only good thing I had there was the beer. This place feels like a total tourist trap, banking on its location near the Ark Bar. Don’t make the same mistake I did—you’ll just waste your money on bad food and...
