Hesan Vegetarian — Restaurant in Talat Nuea

Drove for 30 minutes specifically to come and try out this place, but unfortunately didn’t have the best experience. Not one to waste food, it was a real shame I physically couldn’t eat it. The taste was awful. It was around 9am, because I’d heard that they have special discount price at that time. It was made clear straight away that options were limited, although we couldn’t communicate easily (my Thai skills are little). Ended up with one plate of cold noodles and my friend one plate of cold rice, each with four small pieces of mock meat for ฿100 baht total, sharply put down in front of us. Honestly, tasting it.. it felt like yesterday’s lunch, the food clearly wasn’t fresh and I could easily believe it was cooked early the day before and left on the side in the heat for 24hrs. The noodles in particular had a pungent taste of spoilt fish or some nastiness. Neither of us could eat them. I think this is why it’s discount cost in the morning, but perhaps nobody had tasted the dishes before allowing it to be served. It was such a shame. Hesan Vegetarian is a true gem in Phuket. I've been coming here on and off for years, and it consistently maintains its quality — which is rare and so appreciated.

The food is buffet style, all freshly made from scratch with love and care. You can taste the quality in every bite — wholesome, flavourful, and never heavy. It’s honest, homemade vegetarian food at its best.

We absolutely loved the variety of yummy vegetarian food available at this restaurant. Early morning is the ideal time to visit as the food is super fresh and all the options are still available. We loved the different eggplant dishes and the vegetable Chinese buns were delicious. We literally tried half of the different options and there wasn't one dish that was disappointing. The fresh market is just down the road so we bought some delicious fruits and enjoyed them in the restaurant...
