Update: unfortunately I now have to add something negative to my previously positive review. On our last visit to Natural, we ordered a vegan massaman curry as we had done so many times before, emphasized several times that it should be vegan and also showed the Thai symbol for jay (vegan). Unfortunately, our request was not heeded here and we didn't get any completely vegan dishes, which gave me health problems after the meal. Very disappointing as I thought I had found a good Thai restaurant in Natural that could prepare vegan food and was reliable. Unfortunately, it's not always vegan here, which is very disappointing and a sad for me.
The Natural Restaurant is one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Phuket. It serves authentic Thai food that is not only super tasty but also totally okay in terms of price. You also sit in a beautiful jungle-like setting with lots of plants, small ponds and waterfalls and a tropical atmosphere.
The staff are very courteous, attentive and friendly and special requests are also no problem.
There is also a good selection of vegan dishes and everything is prepared vegan on request. As I immediately get health problems if something is not vegan, I am more than delighted with Natural. We've already eaten here several times and I've always tolerated everything well. And the food tastes simply delicious!
In addition to the Thai curries, I can highly recommend the pomelo salad, but as I said, every dish has been delicious so far.
We love Natural and come here...
Read moreSadly, one of my favourite and regular restaurants since moving to Phuket nine years ago is not as good as before.
I've always found it irksome the way the staff finish of the dining experience by pointing out and reading out the big red stamp saying "Service Not Included" on your bill. as if I am incapable of reading it for myself. But I put up with it and returned regularly because of the relaxing ambiance and delicious food at reasonable prices.
Unfortunately, they have recently increased their prices and changed the menu selections to mainly well known Thai staples which you can get anywhere, (and often cheaper and better quality), with now only a few of the more unusual local Phuket dishes which had helped to make the restaurant interesting and distinctive in the past.
I suspect the place must be listed prominently on tourist websites because it is busy with large and loud Chinese and Russians groups. People who often can't eat authentic spicy Thai food and who stand outside the entrance smoking while they wait for...
Read moreAlthough the food was quite good and the atmosphere was really unique and serene, I cannot say I had very good exceptional service. The food took over 45 minutes to come out and we never got the extra set of utensils we asked for. Upon receiving the bill, we were charged almost double what we were expecting to have to pay. Upon closer inspection of the menu, the cashier pointed out that the seafood we ordered, although listed in price increments of 100 grams, were served as portions of 300-500 grams although it doesn't say that anywhere on the menu. We ordered shrimp and the portion was very small, 5 shrimps to be exact yet it was somehow 300 grams worth. So instead of paying $120B, we were asked to pay $360B for 5 shrimps. The cashier explained that it was the set price and we have to pay it. I explained that I wasn't trying to get out of paying, simply that it seemed shady to not say on the menu how much you'll actually be charged for something. I give 2 stars because the food was quite good but not the...
