Aekkeko hostel — Hotel in Talat Nuea

We stayed here for 2 nights. Its location is good as it is close to many shops, restaurants and bars. It is far from the heavily touristy areas like patong but there is a bus 5 minute walk away which costs 40 baht. The old town is really nice to stay in and I’d recommend it over patong and similar areas. It’s calm and quiet and you can take yourself away from the hustle and bustle of patong. ||The beds were quite comfortable which was good and the curtains provided a lot of privacy. The AC in the rooms was efficient and kept the rooms nice and cool. The lockers are only big enough for a small rucksack but there is quite a lot of places to put your bigger bags that is out of the way. ||There is plenty of common area space to relax in if you don’t want to sit in your bed. You can sit in the reception area as well as upstairs. There were plenty of lounge beds and even the netted bed too. ||The bathrooms were clean and tidy. There were separate ones for men and women which I liked. There were hairdryers available to use and also soap and shampoo in the shower. Although in one of the women’s showers the overhead shower head isn’t actually connected to a water supply. It’s just there for show basically. ||We didn’t use any of the kitchen amenities. ||The people who run it here are soooo nice!!! They were really sweet and kind. They were very helpful with loads of information on tours and public transport. However they did always seem to be a bit late opening up in the morning and would disappear a lot during the day. ||I will also note that the front room did get a lot of noise from the main road and one of the places across the road played the same song on a loop consistently throughout the day. ||Overall a really nice experience...

Aekkeko has to be the ultimate hustle in downtown Phuket town! It is immaculately located next to the local morning veg & fruit market, authentic restaurants nearby, and next to the beautiful old town streets packed with unique coffee shops & stores, where the weekly night markets are being held! The hustle itself is colorful & beautiful with a unique character and texture!! It is designed with love and detailed care for the convenience and relaxation of its guests, with many plants, a courtyard, skylights, several common spaces for chilling and working, and a fully equipped kitchen! The dorm rooms have the ultimate dorm setup for privacy and comfort! I especially enjoyed the showers & toilets area, it is so nice to brush your teeth surrounded by beautiful plants growing & crawling all around you :)✨️ I really appreciated the hustle being cleaned every day, and overall how great the staff were! This is the best hostel I stayed in Thailand! The owners are amazing and so friendly and accommodating. They have great recommendations for tours and places to see. The faculties are top notch! It is so well maintained and clean and trendy and in the heart of Phuket old town. Everything is available all around. With night markets and fresh markets. Breakfast was fantastic. There is an excellently equipped kitchen. You an fry eggs or cook your meals if you choose. The rooms are beautifully furnished and comfortable. The bathrooms are so clean and the house keeper is friendly and kind. The owners are the best we have communicated with. Always available to assist and give recommendations. Aek and Koko! Loved it here. Netflix and online access to movies and World Cup was available too! The hostel helped us to organize a tour to Phi Phi islands at A very reasonable cost. Everything is available at walking distance....
