Hint Cafe & Eatery
Relatively new place, we went for lunch in a group and tried a dish from every section of their menu.
Pastas are great, meat is well cooked, fish is great as well. The wine selection is very poor. There was only one option for white in a glass. The wine the servant recommended me taste off and after I came back home I had headaches for hours - it wasn’t well preserved.
Attached a photo of 🐟Pan seared grouper with miso sauce & salad (450) - the dish tasted good overall. Portion is decent. Slightly overpriced.
Value for price - overall all the dishes tasted great, some of them feel a bit overpriced. Pastas & pizzas - starting from 250 THB Meat & fish - most of the dishes starts from 450 THB.
Parking - no organize parking, need to drive around a little bit to look for parking.
Atmosphere - we were a big table (7 people) during lunch time and the resturant wasn’t that busy beside us. There isn’t a special atmosphere or something extra ordinary, maybe evening time it is different.
Service - generally good service, waitress speaks well English.
Overall it’s a nice place to dine with friends or come as a couple. Most of the things are positive, although I don’t see myself coming back due to high pricing of main courses & low quality and selection of wine in glass.
I think if they would create a set menu or offer some deal it would help them get more customers. As their location is a bit off, they need to create something which attract people. It isn’t a place which have ‘walk in clients’ who just passed by and they probably relaying on people to pass on the word or...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience. I might be biased as an Italian, but the food at this Italian restaurant in Phuket was truly disappointing. Let’s start with the pizza: the dough was rubbery, far from the light and crispy crust one would expect from a good pizza.
The carbonara pasta was a disaster: the pasta was overcooked, the guanciale was undercooked, and, unforgivably, the sauce with eggs included onions – an ingredient that should never be in a true carbonara! Moreover, the cheese used was not pecorino, which made the flavor even less authentic.
The sausages all’arrabbiata were just as disappointing: the sauce was brown, a far cry from the bright red it should be, and it was full of garlic, another ingredient that doesn’t belong in the original recipe. Even the olive oil wasn’t up to par: it had a poor taste and definitely didn’t seem to be Italian.
The only positive note was the waitress, who was very kind and polite. However, that alone isn’t enough to make up for a kitchen so far removed from Italian tradition.
Unfortunately, I will never go back, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Italian...
Read moreThis place is hands down one of the best Italian restaurants in Phuket — and definitely my go-to spot! Every dish here is absolutely delicious, cooked with real passion and authenticity. It honestly feels like having a good friend cook you a homemade Italian meal. ❤️
The pasta is always perfectly cooked, the sauces are rich and full of flavor, and the pizzas come out thin, crispy, and wonderfully fragrant from the oven. The quality you get for the price is incredible — truly one of the best value Italian meals you’ll find on the island.
The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and welcoming — perfect for a casual dinner with friends, a date night, or even a family meal. If anyone asks me where to eat Italian food in Phuket, Penne is always the first place I...
