My first visit was on 2017, taste like was okay, nothing special. Basically it taste like braised pork all amah will be able to make.
On may 2023 I revisited this, place it move to a new place. So please check google maps location, it is easier to find and now have ac
BUT THE SERVICE WAS SO BAD PLEASE CONSIDER
Upon my arrival, after a long queue, the owner approach me and ask how many person, i told her and she directly walk inside, i followed her and get yelled at. LIKE how can u shout at people like that when ur gesture are like asking us to follow her to get seated, plus there are 2 more free table with total of 8 seating. At first I thought she was having a language barrier and just asking us by body gesture, sometimes people do that right? This point I dont really mind, miscommunication happens sometimes
Second We asked for hot water / hot tea we wanted a hot beverage. WE ALSO GET YELLED AT, if suppose you dont have it, just say it, why shouting at people? I asked calmly and with manners, i didnot even raised my voice. So why did she? I am customer I asked politely why are you shouting? If u said, her voice are particularly loud etc, yes but not so loud to make the whole room look at you. So she literally shout at us for asking mere hot water. I tried to ask her employee, to reconfirm the hot beverage availability, they can properly and politely said calmly they didnot serve hot beverage. Why she cant so that and chose to shout at me instead?
Third I was finish eating my meal, while my friend are eating slowly and on a pause, she usually ate a little bit slower that other. THIS ALSO AROSE PROBLEM FOR THE OWNER. “WHY NOT EATING? What r u waiting” I was in shock, like people sometimes take pause within bites, not eating as fast as other, that also rise problem for her.
I will never go back here. If I can give MINUS STAR I definitely will. This is the worst service i have ever experience
For the food Very small portion, a regular sized asian man will have to order 2 portion if eating here in hunger Pork braised rice 3/5 Wonton...
Read moreFinally, the thing I craved so much when we couldn’t travel for the past 2 years. They moved from soi 19 to soi 15, which is just a short walk, a few streets down from the original store. Actually went here on the 9/6 but it was closed so we came back again on our last day. Queues for about 30 minutes before we got a seat (the turnover rate was quite fast anyway, as people just eat and go). While queuing, I was just staring at the uncle chopping the pork. He does it with such ✨elegance and grace✨ i was so mesmerized. Anyway I digress. Each bowl of wanton mee is 100B (SGD$4) which is technically not expensive in SG terms, normal priced I guess. But I saw quite a few reviews that said the original price used to be 50B only. Ordered 2 bowls for myself (was ABIT much, didn’t remember the portion size to be this big) Also ordered the Ovaltine pork that I was STARING at the whole time. It apparently comes in a price range of 300-500B (SGD$12-15) but idk which size I ordered.... the lady that came to take our order spoke to us in super fluent Chinese (I guess ALOT of sgporeans come here hahaha) n we had to wait for awhile for our noodles to come. Whilst we wait, we got served the Ovaltine pork first. The pork was so SOFT I tell u the fat literally melts in your mouth 🤤 actually the pork was quite fatty and we had to remove quite a bit of fat but I had a few pieces because why not :-) the noodle was just as good as I remembered it, super savory crab meat, together with the wonderful aroma of pork lard, this is it man, this is truly it. Truly amazing. I’ve never been to another place that is able to make the pork lard be as fragrant as this, I really wonder how they do it. Still a 10/10 experience for me, will obviously come...
Read moreOne of the most popular wonton noodle shop I heard in Bangkok. So many tourists will come here and I heard is always long queue. When I arrived, yes there’s a very long queue but fortunately we didn’t wait for long, about 20 minutes and please have everyone there when it’s your turn or else you can’t go in.
Environment 3/5 It is a very packed restaurant with super narrow space and the place to queue outside is not fully shaded also, so please expect to get some sun while waiting. At least my sweat is like just done 30 minutes sports when it’s my turn.
Service 4/5 Staff and lady boss don’t look too friendly when I told my family is walking over. They asked me to stand beside but doesn’t sound friendly at all.
Wonton noodle 5/5 This is a struggle between 5/5. But considering this quality in Thailand, I give it a 5 because you can’t really get as good anywhere else. But yeah let’s compare with just Thailand. By the way, the portion size is exactly 3 mouthful.
Braised pork rice, braised pork knuckle, braised intestine 3/5 Nothing outstanding, just like others
Thai milk tea 5/5 I think is quite hard to get Thai milk tea that doesn’t taste good
Will I come back again? 1/5 That’s because I don’t think coming to Thailand to queue for wonton mee makes any sense for me who has wonton mee everywhere in my home country. Also with the price for the portion size, I don’t think that’s reasonable other than they are popular...
