I Food Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Thanon Phaya Thai Subdistrict

I was in Thailand earlier this month and decided to come to pick this restaurant as the last restaurant to go to before our next flight.

The food was about average, I wouldn’t recommend getting any of the pasta dishes as we got one of the cream pastas that tasted quite sickening, they don’t melt the cheese or add smaller cheese to allow the residue heat of the pasta to melt it. The pad thai and garlic rice is okay. But, I must say that the difference in the picture of the food in the menu compared to in person was like day and night.

However, I wouldn’t have minded if the food was just average. It was the fact that we had ordered 2 rice and garlic porks and they said they only had one portion of pork left only after they started to bring out two other mains. I have no issue with changing my dish and I know that it was slightly early so maybe they were waiting for a delivery. So I opted for the prawn version of the dish. My dish had not come out for quite a while and everyone else had already finished theirs as we were all quite hungry. Then by the time my dish had come out, I saw the chef give it to the waiter who looked perplexed and they were discussing something over my food. When they came to our table it was squid and they said that they didn’t have prawns. Why couldn’t they have just been clear from the start😭 They bring out food/drinks with no urgency. There was like a 10 minute wait between a pair of drinks. They also bought out a stir fried vegetable first which they could’ve brought out last as it cooled down as we waited for other food. Food was alright (pad thai nice and moist altho noodles are so short i ate with a spoon, stir fry beef basil was nice but it wasnt minced meat, and the beef was a bit chewy). The service however was unfortunately horrible. The wait staff had a great attitude and a great smile, but other than that it was just horrible. Food came out like 45-60min since we ordered. The wait staff apologized (without us asking) and told us the food will come out soon. But then we waited another 15-20 min. He apologized again saying it was a busy night, but it didnt seem like a busy place to us. During payment, the wait staff gave us 70 baht back. 20 baht in note and 50 baht in COINS. What kind of place doesnt have cash/notes??? Moreover, as we were counting the change. The wait staff came and asked “is there a problem?” (Again with a sincere looking smile). He then counted the coins with us. And as he was counting, another wait staff came and put 2x 5baht coins. Like they gave us short and we wouldnt have known unless we counted. Mind you, 15 baht was in 1 baht coins. I know friends who wouldnt bother counting coins. We kinda felt scammed to be honest. Sure it was only 10 baht but it felt like they intentionally gave us small change to cheat 10 baht from us LOL.

Anyways, food is nice but we will never come back or...

We had the pleasure of dining at this hidden gem recently 6 of us, and it was an experience we won't soon forget. Came back 5 times to be exact The shrimp fried rice was perfectly cooked, with plump, juicy shrimp and a wonderful blend of flavors that left us craving more. The pad thai was equally impressive, with just the right balance of sweet, savory, and tangy notes that danced on our taste buds.

What truly elevated our dining experience, however, was the exceptional service. The waiters were not only attentive but also incredibly enthusiastic, making us feel like valued guests from the moment we walked in. Their attentiveness ensured that our glasses were always full and our needs were promptly attended to, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home.

Overall, dining here was a delightful experience, thanks to the delicious food and the outstanding service. We left feeling incredibly happy and satisfied, alread looking forward to our next visit. Oh yeah aircon and wifi was...
