The Roof Top Bar — Restaurant in Thanon Phaya Thai Subdistrict

The view is spectacular! The bar and the service ridiculous. U feel ur sitting in a waiting hall at the train station. Service personal is unfriendly and stressed - ok - there are a lot of stupid tourist along the day - but it's there job... 400 Bath entrance fee and a cocktail for free. Don't expect a wonder. I had an strawberry daiquiri- sweet and I missed the alcohol inside ;) my accompaniment had an non alcohol drink - that drink was ok. a lot of guys wrote here ...quite expensive and so one.... but think about ... 400 b are around 12 Euro for an non/alcohol drink on a touristic place with entrance fee. Is that expensive? For Thailand yes - but for us tourists from Europe or US/Canada? I don't know how much is the monthly salary from this guys who wrote... so expensive... but they must earn enough money that they could a afford a holiday for themself in Asia...so its stinginess or are they in a flow of how could I survive Thailand without loosing money and find a place where I am alone with best food, best drinks, best view and super urgent- cheap! ? Sorry - back to the rooftop bar .. I find if u compare the view and benefit (drink) with the fee it's worth. If u like to sit outside and have a drink in spectacular location go to sky bar at the state tower but mind the dress code and mind that the cocktails cost 500...

This place isn't recommended if you have been travelling around other big cities in Asia with sky bars. You're only paying for the view. 400 baht entry (with free drink) is excessive considering what you get when you reach the bar.

We ordered bar snacks which were poor quality - reheated chicken wings and a packet of "lays ready salted" crisps that cost more with disappointing in taste.

Service was also poor. The waitress told us we weren't allowed to move around the bar area with our drinks without explanation. If that's the policy, we definitely will accept as long as she explained in a hospitality manner. And then when we were still finishing our food and drinks she brought is our bill without being asked.. this place has to learnt to engage and smile to its customers.

Whilst in the bar there was no Wi-Fi and the "DJ" was an old playlist of tracks from 5 years ago.

We chose this place because it's advertised as the highest sky bar in bangkok but there are definitely better sky bars in bangkok for...

It's all there - plethora of food to pick from, good but not exceptional sea food, warm-hearted, quite attentive personel and relaxed atmosphere. To my disappointment the interiors seem neither classy nor stylish. But they're not what we all come for. A few more steps and...voila! It's a truly mindblowing experience to see Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit by night, from 300 m above the ground surface after a proper feast. Lines at the entrance are shorter than they seem and it's definitely worth waiting. A really decent early evening option before they zero your bankroll in the next ping pong bar. Five stars...
